Does anybody make a non flipper knife with some sort of bearing system rather than washers? Is the advantage of bearings lost unless it is a flipper?

I don't know about any folder with that system which does not have a flipper. However, flipper or not the folder is going to be smoother.

Brad Southard and Brian Fellhoelter have flipperless models that pivot on bearings.

My Michael Burch knife has IKBS and no flipper. Some of G&G Hawk knives are flipperless with bearings too (TOAD, RAZR, MUDD)..

Andre van Heerden and Andre Thorburn folders can have either, you can order it that way from them.

There are a few youtube videos I posted on their knives.

Alan Davis makes some incredible Ti Framelocks with bearings--both flippers and non-flippers. I have 2 of his non-flippers and they are sweet!

The Microtech Socom Delta has bearings and it lacks a flipper. I have two bearing knives, one with a flipper and one without, and the flipper does make it mord fun. That not withstanding, I still love the bearings because it makes both of them super smooth, which is gratifying in itself

IMO, a properly built folder does not need a roller brg....Scott Cook is the perfect example.

But at the same time, bearings in a knife doesn't mean it isn't built properly. :)

Jeremy Robertson El Patron. He updates the El Patron as he makes them, but he was putting them in his non-flippers. I don't know if he has stopped.

x 3 on the Alan Davis creations!!!!!

I really need to find a better job though. Spending $250 on a folder just isn't in the cards right now. :(

Mikkel Willumsen makes folders with IKBS in a non flipper, I have one. Super smooth!
