We lost Superman. @bearthedog Legend of the Survival Forums.

Reuben Bolieu was a close friend for more than 20 years. Adventurer, writer, musician, traveler, and one of the most genuinely interesting and incredible people I have ever known. Genuine and articulate.

I first knew Reuben through the old forums, long before either of us imagined we'd be traveling around the world because of knives. Over the years, we shared countless phone calls about international travel, wild experiences, future plans, and whatever adventure was around the next corner. I could talk to him for hours.

His time at @eseeknives was nothing short of legendary, and his knowledge of the world and adventure taught me more than I can put into words. But more than anything, Reuben had a passion for life and travel. He was the kind of person who made every story better, every trip more memorable, and every conversation worth having, way into the night on many occasions.

This is a hard post to write.

I miss you, Reuben.

Thank you for the friendship, the adventures, and the memories. Even though we traveled the world, it feels a little smaller without you in it.

Awful news. Thanks for posting here. I barely knew him but was always impressed when I came across his adventures, writing, and photos. Reuben's lifestyle and wilderness skillset was inspirational to me and I'm sure many other folks here.

The world is a better place for Rueben having been in it, I'm glad I got to meet him, and hang out with him a few times. He was the type of guy who always brought more life into every room he entered, and more light with that smile of his. We connected through our passions for photography. He took such amazing photos, captured so many vibrant colors and such details, in nature and in villages. His travel threads were like mini vacations at my desk, my daughter always loved looking at them. It's hard to believe he's gone. I'm still having difficulty processing that.

Sad news. He was a great man. Gone too soon. RIP Reuben

Very sad news... I am really sorry... I still have the TOPS C.U.B. (Compact Utility Bushcrafter) a heavy-duty, smaller fixed-blade designed for everyday carry and survival environments.... Very smart and effective design... RIP Reuben!

Wow! Big loss to the world and our community. Thanks @Joezilla for sharing so we can all give our respects and reflect. RIP Reuben.

Glad to see you posting up your thoughts, and sharing, Mr. Flowers.

I was very sad to hear this (been swamped with a lot of travel this month, with very little digital time, so late finding out).
I sadly never met Reuben in person; had hoped to but it never worked out.
My loss for sure, and a reminder to make the time to meet, spend time with folks, before you miss the chance.

Always enjoyed his posts here, outstanding photography, and articles over the years.

He has, and continues to, inspire me in my travel and outdoor time.

Thank you,
Brome

I'm sorry for your loss. I never had the pleasure of meeting Reuben, but I read and enjoyed most of what he wrote in the old print knife magazines.
