It was about 10 minutes. I took a break and Rick decided to go with the follow through. It would have been quicker with an axe, there is no doubt about that. It wouldn't have been as fun with an axe, there is no doubt about that either
We were also having a ball chopping through grape vines in a single slice and partaking of their water. On the green vegetation the machete is king even in these woods. On those thick logs, the axe makes shorter work. However, the machete did a much better job than what would have been accomplished with a larger chopper.
Will the Junglas outchop the lite machete? No Frigg'n way!!!! Want prove me wrong? Well it will be fun even if you do prove me wrong
PS I was wearing it on the belt earlier in the day. I don't like it attached to the pack. We were just packing out for the day so I stuck it in there. Just really wanted to give a perspective of the size of the thing. That's a maxpeditin Falcon II.
That's great to see some action photos of you puttin' your Lite to work. I got mine a couple weeks ago and want to see about having a kydex sheath made with molle attachment points so I can mount it to the side of my Kifary X-Ray bug out bag. I really want to get the new sheath set up from Lost Mountain Iron Works for the Junglas, which looks bad ass and has a molle set up on the back. It'll be cool to see a shoot out between the Lite and the Junglas on how they do side by side.
Soon as my preorder junglas finally shows up I'll get a chop off going. From what I've seen of the lite though, the thinner longer blade is going to destroy the junglas. Only advantage to the junglas I see is more comfortable batoning, and being more packable
