Did you have any problems opening/closing or it feeling sticky or anything?
No, super smooth, flies open.
No lockstick either, I loved that knife and was kinda sad it had worn out

Did you have any problems opening/closing or it feeling sticky or anything?
Wow I've never held both of those together, they look almost the same. Well the reason I ruled out the Tenacious is because although I don't own one personally, I've gotten to play with one extensively and the liner lock and blade deployment felt "gummy". Maybe I just had a defect? Can you guys confirm this is not a common issue?
As for the RAT1, I have one, beat it but still works. Just looking for something different.
From reading your suggestions, it seems like a used Spyder or a Blur would suit my needs well.
Thanks for the suggestions!
You can just buy another brand new Manix 2, bd1 blade, pretty much the perfect knife for you, for a "tiny bit" over $60... Maybe a "wee" bit, but not much.
Or look for a used Manix or Griptilian..?
The Tenacious has phosphor bronze washers and should deploy easily. The two I've had were both rock solid and amazing for the money. 8cr isn't the best steel, but its easy to sharpen. Sandvik in the Blur will hold and edge noticeably better, but stills need to be touched up regularly. In my experience, I can just about keep it sharp by quickly stropping on my waist belt after use.
I see. I'm starting to lean more towards the Tenacious now since all you guys highly suggest it. I guess I shouldn't let one bad experience rule it out entirely, perhaps the "gummy" was due to neglect in maintenance from the user. They don't happen to make the Tenacious in different steels do they?
If your looking for a larger flipper the Spyderco C142GP resilience is a great edc plus size. Very smooth non assist.
