Beating Yourself, and the Wood Up

That's quite a bit of surface rust there. Did the Ganga get dipped in the creek while you were cooling off?

The GRS is pretty awesome alright. Mine has done its fair share of work.

Thats the prettiest GRS I've seen Munk. The cho is well placed, the belly is properly pudgy, and its got a good patina too. LOL.

That rust came....I left the blade on a stump. Later in the afternoon it sprinkled. About an hour after that I found the blade and took the picture. I cleaned the rust off with a pad. I thought it would be a good lessson for all to see.

The log is now at home. My next picture will be of the pine across the way about to be delimbed.

The tent is where my brave son Carter sleeps alone many nights.

The bad blurry photo is of Keith sitting on the log when I got it across the stream.

The pile of wood is what happens when a bunch of kids go to Khuk Klinic

Andy, did only one picture come through?

That's the second log after partial delimbing. I'm using the 25" AK, which I'll try to get to Andy here shortly. It weighs only 53 ounces and was made by Sanu.

I drug the camera, 20" AK villager, and 25" AK up the small slope. I initially thought I'd delimb with the Villager, my old tried and true, but took the larger AK to see how it would do. There was more than enough clearence between log and ground to try this.

It did very well, though I'm not sure any better than the shorter blade. Truth is, my AK is so 'sevelt' (sic?) that it does not hit with the authority of the stouter shorties. On the other hand, by not swinging as hard, it easily chops wood. I spent some time getting reajusted to it. I used more force than was neccesary. Just like last time with the Ganga Ram, once I got tired I got smart, and let the blade do more work with less effort.

There's a chipmunk possibly living in the stump. Not sure what will happen to his home once I remove more of it.

More from Chipmunk Homewrecker Munk. Unyeildy weilder of inapropriate force vs a lesser opponent. And...One of our finest. LOL.

I couldn't get much more around the cut because I was on such a steep bank. I delimbed the segment I was working on and then just leaned on the tree, breaking it off as you see. While doing all this Trav found me and came running down from home to see the action. I drug the log to the stream and across. Then I piled it against my bank for cabling up later. There are still three more logs to get, including felling a busted pine.

The AK was still sharp after use.
