Beaumont work rest moves out of the way?

I have a reversible variable speed disc grinder with a 56c face. I would like to get the Beaumont adjustable work rest for it.

When using the disc to prep for hand sanding I'm moving the blade all over the place. Above midline, below midline. I'll do anything to minimize hand sanding

Would the side mount pieces get in the way of that? Do they poke out at all beyond the face of the disc itself when the table is removed?

the mounting pieces do not cross the plane of the work rest, even when tilted.

If you remove the rest the disk will be freely accessible 360°

On my grinder, the Beaumont rest and support arms can be completely removed and there is nothing to interfere with the disk face.
