beautiful GA hike!

Very nice Rock. I trust that limb continued to support your boys weight? Getting harder and harder to find parks that allow backcountry camping anymore. Nice that you have one close by you.

Hey Chief, you camped out there didn't you? That one campsite right at the "rock dam" is a pretty nice area.

Yes and no. I camped out in the other walk in sites. It's over in area 2. You walk in about 1/4 mile to them and they are the primative sites right on the lake.

The ones on the rock dam trail looked nice though. And you are correct: the one by the rock dam is the nicest of the 4. I plan on camping on one of them soon. I just gotta get a decent 4k-5k cu in back pack first.

Looks like it was a perfect day and great scenery!

What kind of pack were you using? Looks like it fit the Guyot well on the sides.

Let me know if you need a pack while you're here at school...I've got a Kifaru EMR and Arc'Teryx Tango pack you could use if you need a big one...The EMR is 7500 cu in and the Tango is about 4000 cu in.

I was using a small 25 liter pack by Gregory...the Z25. I like it for the day hikes on trails and it'll fit a Guyot/Nalgene bottle on each side in the pockets, plus it'll take a narrow bladder on the inside with tube ports built in. It also has a decent light-weight tube frame, so it does give good support it you add a lot of weight. I also use it for mountain biking as it compresses down good and can really be locked onto your back without much movement.
