Admittedly, I have a fetish for large folders of all kinds. Anything with less than 3.75" is a small folder by my standard. Over the years I've collected and kept some rare custom pieces, and now it's time to help them find new homes where they can continue to be appreciated and perhaps carried or used. These are the last ones in my collection of custom folders. All knives are in pristine condition with smooth action and no history of carry or use. The only one with some superficial scratches on its handle is the Reese Weiland Mongoose due primarily to its age.
Tom Mayo XL TNT Midnight Rambler in Devin Thomas Stainless Typhoon Damascus, $3000CAD shipped. This one was made around 2015 right at Mr. Mayo's prime, beautiful lines, beautiful damascus, beautiful polished edge and false edge, solid lockup and dead centered blade, 4.25" blade.
Kit Carson Large Custom Folder in 154CM, $OLD shipped. Kit Carson was one of the pioneers of the concept of tactical folders and the use of titanium as liner material to improve weight without compromising strength. While Mr. Carson is famous for his M series with CRKT, his custom pieces have been undervalued and under appreciated due to its plain look and lack of exposure. This one was made in either the late 1990's or early 2000's, a true piece of tactical folding knife history. 154CM blade steel, carbon fiber scales and titanium liner lock may seem average in today's world, but back in those days this was THE ####! a whopping 4.75" of blade.
Peter Rassenti Cleaver, $OLD shipped. Canada's very own Peter Rassenti started a storm a few years ago with his tactical folders with integral handles, which takes a lot of skill and patience to perfect. While he's probably the most famous for his SNAFU design, I like the cleaver the most, especially this particular one for its organic look and pure complexity. The handle design mimics a little stream running through cobbles, the blade has a multi tone finish with acid washed flats, satin finished grinds, polished edge with etched false hamon. I could keep going for 20 minutes on what I love about this knife, but I digress. 4" of blade in CTS-XHP.
