Beautiful Pirtle Made Sheath for WTF!

The sheath Chad made for my MSE is super duper nice, in terms of design and workmanship. I can't wait to get another very soon. He is definitely a master craftsman.

Inspector, I would love to see a pic or two of that MSE sheath.

After some confusion at the post office my Pirtlemade sheath just came in for my BG WTF. Amazing craftsmanship on this sheath! Will definitely be using Chad again for my leather rigs.

This is not my picture. I just googled this but it was actually from a former post on how to carry large busse knives

Beautiful.

Can't decide if I want that style or the cross draw one which looks like it can adjust for different carry methods.

Thanks all for the continued positive feedback!

Dylan, it wasn't because the guy at the PO put that piece of tape over your zip code was it? I even wrote it again below.. I mailed two that day but forget who got taped on.

Probably worth explaining the design intent of this particular sheath. I discussed it when I first showed pictures way back when in the WTF pants thread..

Generally speaking I try to design all of my sheaths with function first, and try not to stick with specific designs just because I am comfortable with making them. It takes a lot longer to do it this way but I hope it means a better end product.

I had a few months to think about the WTF design while we were all waiting for them and knew most people would not want to carry a knife like this on their belt, or carry it on their body a lot in general.

If you take the carabiner and loop off you have three lashing points to allow it to be lashed to anything you want.

Using just the carabiner it can be attached to a Baldric or my HaverStrap, clipped onto a saddle, ATV or pack, and you still have the lower lashing points for added security.

For the true sadist's among us you can wear it on the belt, but also easily turn the carabiner out of the loop without removing it from your world's largest belt.

Finally, the loop the carabiner is attached to at the sheath is held on with screws so a customer with a special use in mind, or if I make future options available can be retrofit without sending the sheath back.

Hope this helps clarify the design intent and thanks again everyone for your continued patronage & support :)

No. I'm not sure what the problem was, but on the tracking it said, "Undeliverable as addressed" even though it's the same address I use every time. The address I have is the coast guard base in Galveston, Tx and sometime getting mail there is screwy. I just went to the post office and they looked around for a bit and found my package. Regardless I'm stoked with the sheath and couldn't be happier!

Thanks again Chad Pirtle!

Outstanding Sheath, wonderful craftsmanship!!
So many great ideas...
Thanks for the pics!!

What you can't see in the photo is how great this design is, because there is a perfect little ledge on the top edge of the sheath that acts as a push off with your thumb. The design is minimalist and seemingly simple, but in actuality it is extremely well thought out. Bravo Mr Pirtle!

I have a couple similar sheaths for my Lephrechauns (look here for pics). I agree, Chad's design is simple but quite functional and well thought out. Nice and sturdy too!

I was sold after your first picture and placed my order. Appreciate the info though. Looking forward to it.
