I just got in this beautiful professionally stabilized Koa and Maple from A.C. Richards!
I'm reviewing this wood for A. C. Richards and must say it looks excellent. I just got the blocks in and they were very well packed. The colors look very clean and clear. There is no smell or residue from the stabilizing process. This wood looks great!
I'll have more on the wood later as I get going more on this project. The Koa may go with mokume or copper bolsters.
I'm also profiling some of Aldo's W2 which will be clay coated and water quenched for hamon. Everything is fresh off the bandsaw.
...Kwaiken fixed blades... a TJT Framelock blade and 2 Kiridashi all in water quenching W2 tool Steel. This steel reaches high RC and really performs. W2 has great hamon potential.
