Beautiful Wood Identification

After further reading about Palo Santo, I realized we do have the true Lignum Vitae here in Argentina, and I already used it many times... LOL
We call it Guayacán, its also readily available.

The small fork is guayacán, next to it ironwood and then jacarandá.

Those are beautiful Pablo. Really, really nice.

Just do yourself a favor, and don't try to bring any in for Blade if it's "true" Lignum Vitae, Guaiacum officinale. It's listed as an endangered species ;)

I'll be sure to swing by your table at the show this weekend!

Is Lignum Vitae , and / or Argentine Lignum Vitae - Verawood color stable or does it change. I have seen reference to it changing to a more greenish color with exposure to sunlight / UV or with time. Do I need to keep these out of direct sunlight?

Genuine Lignum Vitae and Argentine Lignum Vitae are different woods completely .... as different as the Chinese are from Arabic peoples.
Genuine Lignum availability compared to Argentine lignum sort of the same as Brazilliant rosewood being protected but most other rosewoods are fine to import and sell.

Argentine Lignum Vitae - Bulnesia sarmientoi) - is softer and much easier to work than True/Genuine Lignum vitae - Guaiacum officinale, G. sanctum.
Verawood - Bulnesia arborea - is a similar species also called Argentine lignum vitae. Neither is lignum vitae.
They do have a much nicer pattern t the grain. I call it a wiggly herringbone pattern.
