Because I Am A Fan

Hi Dwayne,

I've noticed before and in this photo that to my eye, the grips of the NMFSH seem a little "rounder" and with a little more smooth area top and bottom than the older, flatter-sided (apparently to me) fusion handles. Am I imagining things, or is there a difference there? Any description you could give of your impressions would be appreciated. (Don't have a NMFSH myself.)

Also seems the height of the NMFSH handle top-to-bottom may be slightly less than on the older one?

Some great knives there, my friend--congratulations.

Will

Nice knives. Now if only you had a line on some one to make some quality sheaths for all of them........................:D..................then you would be set...............

Here is some of the leather our very own Mr. Leatherman has set me up with. Dwayne makes some FreakingBadAss rigs. And yeah Dwayne, that Mojo sheath was the one I was talking about.

Thanks again for all your time and patience bro.....You Rock!

And Dwayne, do you remember the bottom one? We did a sheath/knife trade. You still got that ole school Mean Street? Man she was a fatty!!

Thank you Will, that NMFSH loaner was an eye opener for sure. The difference between my HOGFSH is night and day in the handles. Your right, the handles on the NM are MUCH smoother and rounder than the originals. The points and ridges on the original are smoothed down so much, and the scales are a lot more rounded. If I ever have the opportunity to snag one of the NM's I wont hesitate.
The meltdown treatment isnt really a difference maker to me though, it looks cool, but I dont go for cool looks just performance. My attraction to Busse in the first place was the performance first approach.

Preachin' to the choir brother! I cant find a good leather bender for the life of me! :)

Solstice my friend! Long time no see! YOu have most of the most pivotal leather works in my career there! The sheath for that Rat Hunter caused me to rethink my whole system with the Randall style sheath design. I do love looking at that older stuff from the early days, My designs and technique have come so far. Thank you for posting those pics, the memories of better days really made my day! :D

RatFink! Thank you as well, you have an early piece as well. The Rat Daddy HOSS sheaths were a first for me and Eric. Darn near production numbers with truly custom handling. No two were alike, all hand cut and stitched.

I remember that gator SJTac sheath as well, I got that skin at our local knife show many many years ago. If Austin can be claimed as local that is. It was a pretty piece of leather.

Thanks, Bro'!

Wow... awesome pics, Dwayne and others. Solstice has stuff I've never even seen on the forum. Very cool...

Dwayne is to leatherwork what Charlie Daniels is to fiddle-playing. Really amazing stuff Dwayne. Having dabbled a bit in leather, I have some understanding and tremendous respect for your craft. You are a talented man.

Thanks to all for sharing, beautiful work all around here and some of the finest leather I've seen.
