This is a fabulous boot knife or dagger by bladesmith Pierce Franklin (Frank) Beck Jr. of Barnwell SC. Frank is a highly accomplished bladesmith who worked with the great George Herron. It is full tapered tang construction. The stainless steel blade is mirror polished and double hollow ground with a flat ricasso. The ricasso is stamped “ BECK “. The scales are very nice stag and are separated from the tapered tang by fine black spacers. Six fine stainless steel pins fasten them. The knife comes without a sheath. Overall length is 8 1/2", blade 4 1/2”. The knife is numbered 583.
The last image is meant to show a very small crack at the bottom pin, something that has been there for the 15 years I have owned this knife. The asking price reflects this minor issue. It is otherwise drop dead perfect, and a super example of this great knifemaker's craft.
