Just wondering how folks are configuring their Becker-based Nessmuk trio's or combinations for the foreseeable future?

Looks like I'll be using a BK7 with my Grohman #1 and a Vic OHT for this spring summer longer hauls. This has tested-out well for my range of needs. Might shorten-up to the BK10 and the OHT for day hikes or overnighters.

What says you? :)

I'd go with a bk6, a bk2 and a bk14. 14 rides iwb @ 3 o'clock, the go-to tool for any light cutting. 2 in a drop sheath on my right leg, those are my outdoors edc if you will. The patrol machete gets lashed to a backpack or is carried crossdraw with a baldric.

Yay! Now i only have to wait for my 2 to arrive. And i have to get a 6. And i have to get out of the hospital. Well, shit. So much for my summer.

My trio consists of a SOG powerlock, my BK2, and a machete. I also usually carry a BM grip in my pocket.

Here's one I'm looking forward to testing out. Norlund double bit hatchet, BK2, and BRK Lil' Canadien 3V.

I still need to finish the handle on the Norlund.

I don't know what a Nessmuk Trio is.

well, i have several many nessmuks... i love the grohman, and wish to get a survival model at some point.

so, instead of the tiny axe, a machax or khukri... much more versatile, and covers many chores.

and probably a saw :)

Very nice setup. I read somewhere that Nessmuk kept one edge for his double-bit with a keen edge for limbing/woodwork, and the other with a blunter, splitting edge.

I don't know what a Nessmuk Trio is.

George W. Sears favored field tool combo for extended wilderness outings. What is your modern interpretation or traditional combo for gettin' it all done when bushwackin' ? :)

I like not having to pick. I will say that my 14 is always on me, except for now cause I'm not wearing pants.

Like this one a lot too.

If a Nessmuk Trio can be loosely defined as a folder, a small fixed blade and a chopper then my Becker based Nessmuk Trio has got to be

* Vic Huntsman
* BK11 / BK14
* BK9 / BK2

If an ax has to be involved - well bleah. I have a couple of decent tomahawks that I guess I could slip in there but I'd rather use my bigger Beckers.
