I'm a bit late here but mineral oil really only works on micarta. The grivory is too loose that the bolts can come out. When I would use the grivory I would use candle wax; also, it would help keep the bolts in, and the grivory from rattling, from batoning.

I am going to spray my bolts with fluorescent orange Rustoleum High Heat paint. I love to bake the paint on.
I will then say I made custom bolts and hold my chin high.
