Becker BK-7

Ditto sorry about that sure I made my point without the politics. Should have left it out

It's cool man, I am actually looking for another one I like...I've grown weary of that signature myself but as of yet I'm still searching for one that "speaks to me". Lol, now I have to wait even longer just so it doesn't look like I changed it just because you complained about it

I don't think there is such a thing as too much time in the woods, I did live all the way off the grid cept the wife really likes her dishwasher. So I live as far out on the sticks as I can. The rest of your post is spot on.

Hey...I didn't say too much...lol, I said so much ...no such thing as too much ;)

Very nice mistwalker - did you cut that fat piece of bamboo with a striking chop? I can see you doing one side, but both sides on a piece that short seems like it would be cutting things pretty close! I really enjoyed your bamboo spear. Very interesting.

I cut it down as a 10 foot section...then cut about three feet off of it. What you see there is what was left after slashing several pieces off of it just to see how the knife handled it. Lol, I'm pretty comfortable with a knife,...some say a little too comfortable. My knives have been my closest friends since age six...I hang out with them mich more than anyone else lol.

Glad you like the spear, I had fun making it, and I'm sure I'll be making more of them in the future.

I just took another look at that picture...the cut you see is where I cut it down to start with, the other end is the end I had cut with it in my hand and it's at a steeper angle. Sorry about the confusion...I'm brave but not that brave, and good but not that good lol.

Hey now back that train up was never meant as a complaint. Sorry if it read like that I was trying to say While it is a profound quote, I was noting that it does not seem to reflect you or the degree of knowledge and respect you seem to have for our four legged and winged friends having a thinking intelligent that goes beyond mere instinct. I of course could be way off base with my observation

Just kidding man, as I explained after the first comment, the quote is an inside joke.

I have a friend here that runs a pawn shop. One day I was looking at a survival knife in his display that had a magnesium firestarter in the stone pouch and made a comment about it being set up similar to mine...Anthony asked why, and I said because tools and fire are what seperate us from the animals. Anthony laughed out loud and said not with you it doesn't, just makes you an animal with tools and fire....you're still an animal, always will be. Your observation is pretty well spot on friend...I much prefer the animal kingdom.

Heres the pic of the BK2's i mentioned earlier, cocobolo on top amboyna burl on bottom.
camillusbeckerbk2companionssmall.jpg

the one on top has red liners as well.
Cocobolo is really nice wood but doesn't like to take a finish.
Amboyna burl is very pretty but found it a little brittle when drilling the rivet holes.
Neither knife handle is perfect (i see all the flaws) but still i like 'em!
:)

I think they both look great tholiver, ggod job. And I like the looks of the BK2 in general.

Thanks!
The BK2 is a great design!
I need to pick up one of the new Kabar Becker Bk7 or Bk9's as well.
That will be next on the list.

Both seem to be great knives, I like the tip on the BK7 better than the BK9 but with the addition of the BK13 the BK9 becomes a very versatile woods tool. Great chopper.

Just a couple of quick pics…still practicing fuzz sticks...you can tell I need the practice…eventually I’ll get to where I have half as many on the stick as I have on the ground and floor :o , but as for the knife itself I think these are pretty tight….and pretty good considering this is still the factory edge.
