These scales are made from Ipe, an extremely tough and durable tropical hardwood. They are hand rubbed with tung oil to enhance beauty and weather resistance. The color of the wood is natural and therefore cannot be worn off. This finish is easily maintained by you although little or no maintanence is ever needed. The stainless hardware never needs a second thought. The design leaves the highly coveted bottle opener exposed while providing maximum grip length to the rear. Forward the scales are countoured to your factory sheath also providing maximum grip length and full sheath insertion. Make no mistake, this wood is tough, compare to Micarta scales half the size for $30 plus shipping. These scales and hardware are $20 to your door. I think I got a set of your scales off of the bay! Received them almost a week ago. There really great! I love the feel of them and the finish is very nice. I'll post up a pick with them on my 11 soon! Very good stuff here folks and a great value!
