Becker BK14 EsKaBar Winner onado2000, Rat Pack# 25

Serioulsy?

so the knife is named "kinda" named after a ruthless murdering drug lord, responsible for the deaths of a lot of innocent folks including judges, and 110 people on a plane that was bombed. That's pretty cool.

Escobar is an incredibly common name in both Portuguese and Spanish - considering the fact that much of ESEE's training focuses on South America, and they use Spanish in the names of their products, and the name EsKaBar is a combination of ESEE and Ka-Bar, I believe the name is perfectly appropriate.

Just because they only person Americans know with the name Escobar is a drug lord does not mean that's all the name means in the rest of the world. Considering the fact that Jeff and Mike have based their entire business about familiarity with the rest of the world, I find it refreshing that they didn't let the simplistic, American interpretation of the name ruin both a clever play on words and an appropriate name for the product.

I'm sure there are a ton of Timothy Mcveighs and a handful of saddam husseins running around in the world too.

But the knife isn't called the Pablo Escobar. It's called the EsKaBar.

I'm a baseball fan, so I think more of a handful of major league players with the last name than I do a drug lord.

I agree with MustardMan.

Plus there are a few other Escobars that are known, like Pablo Andrés Escobar and Pablo Daniel Escobar Olivetti, both of them are better known as Pablo Escobar
