Welcome to the Becker subforum kbroad! Thanks for making us your first post. This is actually one of the modified knives offered by Chestnut Ridge Knife Shop. If memory serves, they have also offered a BK3 and a BK7 like this. To get it as shiny as it is, first they stripped the epoxy coating from the blade using a paint stripper or brass wire wheel, then through progressive grits of sandpaper up to the desired level of shiny-ness. Since this thread is over a year old, the person that posted it may not see it, but with a search it looks like they answered it in a later post:

You will want to remove the scales

Apply Klean-Strip Stripper (you can find it at Lowes)

After 15 to 30 min. scrpe the coating off with a razor blade.

You knife will look ugly! Then the sanding and polishing starts. The first time I did it it took me 4 hours. It will make a good weekend project!

It takes allot to make them look like this. We have a professional do these.

Old thread but.......I would use a plastic scrapper during stripping rather than a "razor blade" But on the other hand this BK2 looks a hell of a lot nicer than mine!!

Damned the guy who resurrected this thread.... I ended up buying one ;) will look good in the sheath moose is makin!
