i am about to buy a bk2, but i am a bit afraid. blemish and flaws on bk7 and bk9, uneven grind, that those flaws are the case of the BK2 also, i would like to know before buying.

thanks

The Ka-Bar Becker knives offer excellent steel in a reasonably priced tough use knife.
The fit and finish, while good, will generally IME not be at the level of a RAT or Fallkniven which are more expensive.

What kind of blemish & flaws did you find on the BK7 and BK9?

i just read some reviews on internet that talk about some uneven grind the guy talk about other flaws in the thread called KA-BAR BECKER BK9 defective also.

The Ka Bar Becker knives have already developed a very good reputation in the short time they've been out.
I personally have read dozens and dozens of forum posts praising their quality.

But I imagine that the rare 'defective' one will end up on youtube -while in fact the company would probably gladly replace it under warranty if only asked.

Ethan Becker is a guy who cares about the reputation of his products.

It is also worth noting that people like me who are well-pleased with their BK's are not necessary likely to post about it here. You are more likely to hear about the exceptions to the rule by virtue of the fact that they are not the norm.

JMO. :)

i would also like to know if the BK2 got a skeletonized tang like the bk9 or it is full metal with only whole for the handle, thanks

The very, very few problems that have come up with Becker knives were taken care of by Ethan and Paul. The BK-2 is an outstanding knife. You won't be sorry for buying it.

blemishes? only important if you collect the knife for a safe queen like, uh, some people do with at least one :)

uneven edge? happens sometimes. rarely? if it does, and you're using the knife? fix it. couple minutes work for a short bit, and you're going to sharpen that knife over time, and such issues just "go away"...

this is one knife you're not likely to break even under adverse conditions. a vise and steel pipe is not adverse conditions ;)

The BK2 does not have the handle cut outs.

thats sad but i can not order it now, i will only be able to order it next week:(
i did not have the chance to ask my mother today for permission and credit card...

the BK2 is a working mans knife. You can beat the living tar out of it by beating it with a chunk of firewood to split wood, you can pry it, chop it, slice with it, wipe it off and prep dinner with it.

an excellent buy, an excellent value, as are all the new BK knives from Kabar

I stand behind the BK series, i am not affiliated in any way with Kabar or Ethan Becker.

I notice you live in Canada. Warriors and Wonders (www.warriorsandwonders.com) has the BK2 for a great price if you'd like to order in Canada. Just surf through their Ka-Bar products and you'll find it.

Thank you for endorsement guys, you folks are tops in my book.

About the Becker Knives; Remember these knives are not meant to be display knives. The are lets get dirty, knock down and drag-out, get the job done knife. I have been a Becker fan since the Camillus days, they are one of the best in their class. I have seen little dents and ding in the knives that pass through my store however there has been nothing that would compromise the function of the knife even under the most harsh conditions.

With that been said I understand that there are many folk out there that would like to put them on the shelf or in a display case. If this is the case ask your dealer to pick out a wall hanger for you. I have done that for many of my customers.

Allot of people are so impressed with the performance of the BK&T Knives that they like a little eye candy on the wall or in the case, that's perfectly understandable.

If you going to use the knife (like I do) It will look far worse after the first camp out than any new knife coming from Ka Bar.

I must say though Tom, I got my first the BKs from tomarskabars and they had some QC issues (nothing to cry about).. But my third BK (BK7) came from you and it was perfect! I thought you hand picked me a real good one! Maybe I just got lucky.. :)
