I have just recently ordered and received a bk-7. I have not had the time to try it out because it is always dark by the time I get off from work. My first impressions though were really great.
The blade shipped from the factory arm shaving sharp...and I just love the ergonomics of this blade. I absolutely love the handle and it feels like the perfect fit, the only thing I would change maybe is how slippery it feels in a sweaty hand, but I think that is what gloves are for. It looks like it will be one hell of a swinger for a knife of its size and very versatile all around. I cant wait to baton through some of the oak I have laying around for our fire pit.
I was impressed enough with this knife that I decided to order myself a necker the same night I received the bk-7. Granted, I have yet to put the tool through its paces, but I will be doing that very soon.
I am fairly new to cutlery, at least when compared to an enthusiast. After doing more research I feel that I may have chose the wrong blade. I think I might have been better off with the bk-9, but the 7 incher logically seemed more versatile to me. I am curious how efficient it will be for my intended use. I guess I will find out on saturday.
