I noticed the pictures of the new ka-bar bk9 shows a different grind and was wondering if it is in fact correct examples of the final product and if so is the spine thickness left the same? I know the grind was changed on the neckers to a full flat with a slight increase in thickness but if the photo's of the 9 are correct and the spine is still at least as thick as the old Camillus beckers it shoud have some added strength. Thanks for any info, Scott

Hey Scott......

A sharp eye........

There was a slight change in the grind heigh tand if you have a Camillus made one I think you will like the Olean made one better.........

All Best....

Hey Ethan, thanks for the quick reply. :D

I too love the Magnum Camp Knife; I paid a pretty penny for mine and have been a bit hesitant to beat on it like I do most of my big blades.

It seems the market for knives with high points has waned quite a bit; I guess it’s the age of the drop point. :(

I saw a picture of a cool survival knife that Doug Ritter was working on, looked like a spear point with about a six inch blade, will that be produced?

Thanks for the reply Mr B. I have at one time or another owned most of the Camillus line and have been waiting to get my hands on the Ka-bar line starting with the two neckers and the combat bowie. I use a necker daily (Camillus) and although i don't like stainless steel much i imagine that Japanese laminated necker is darn near indestructible! ...Scott

Hey Mike, Rick & Scott......

Most people look at a picture of the MAGNUM CAMP and see a butchers steak slicer and,of course, can not feel the incredible combo of weight and balance that Jerry put into this knife......It is one of the fastest blades I have ever held and I have had the privilege of holding more than a few good blades.....

Doug's knife is still in the "I hope so stage" for 2010....Sooo let your breath out.....

I think you will like the san-mai NECKER......That Hitachi carbon white steel takes a scary edge.....Try your final strop on newspaper.....Then watch out....

All Best...
