So my new to me Becker Bk9 arrived yesterday. My first impression was that it seemed like a sharpened leaf spring off a 68 Nova. Now that Ive had time to further inspection/usage? I can now see what all the fuss is about. This thing is sexy. As a matter a fact I'm using it to cut the ribs I made for dinner as we speak. I'll never look at a leaf spring the same again. Thanks Ethan for finding genius in simplicity.
 
Haha I have a half leaf spring in the back of my truck I've been meaning to forge forever... You're giving me motivation.

I am guessing I'll probably have a 9 at some point. Have a 4 and just ordered a 14 and 15.
 
Yeah after this I can see a few more Beckers in my future. Near future. As in tomorrow's payday, and I have an Amazon account and I'm not afraid to use it!
 
Don't forget, the 4, 5 and 15 are going the way of the dodo... get them while you can.

Yup,

Simplicity it is. Both a leaf spring and a BK9 have (1) thing in common, they both are very capable of hard work.....

 
Is it dead straight in the spine? Mine was curved, which means they don't regulate warping on cooling, a pretty minimal requirement... It is a good knife otherwise (despite the severe vibrations in the handle when chopping), and I find the sheath especially good. Even the baked-on paint is very tough, if hard to clean.

Funny thing is, I just ordered my 15 Tonight. It will be my 2nd Becker, "I'm thinking Right Now" :couple_inlove: Please let me slow down.........................................
 
Ok got it. Looks like a kitchen knife for special forces. May have to have one? Would make a great camp knife.
