Becker Blasphemy ?

Louisiana hot sauce bath now or would that be shower seeing how its not soaking in it like it did the vinegar.....and I'm liking how it looks so far

I recently stripped my 9 and put a mustard patina on it:

The logo is still pretty visible, just kind of subdued.
I think it looks pretty dang cool, if I do say so myself :-)

I heard him on a uTube when he was showing a new design, I think the kukari style knife.

He spoke quite fondly, if I can say, that how pleased he was to know when folk gets his knives they modify them to what they want
"Making them theirs", if I recall correctly

I just got a BK 16
My first Becker, and I am suitably impressed
Stripped it, put the brown grips on, and rebeveled completely on my waterstones
Dressed it in a flap sheath I had from Blind Horse Knives (RIP)
And then I beeswaxed the sheath




The etching can be seen quite clearly




So did I already say "I am suitably impressed"

So Sir, please do what ever you want to make that knife yours

Well sounds like what I was wanting to do next isnt going to happen so that "bright shine line of the polished edge".
Can use a little more work but for now.

Love the look of that patina. One question, though:
Did you neutralize that patina with a little baking soda rinse? Just a suggestion, 'cause the acids you put on there will keep eating steel.....

No I didnt
dont think I've heard/read where anyone had done this.

Baking soda in water and wash the blade or does it have to be like a paste ?

Wouldn't baking soda remove the patina ?

I'm lucky to have got my 2 before they switched to laser. I feel that the etched logos make them seem cheaper
