I'll narrow down your choice. Ethan Becker is bringing the BK9 back into production, but not the Brute. Unless you can get a Brute on ebay or something else, I'd go with the BK9

Ethan Becker told me that the BK9 is a better chopper than the Brute. That's good enough for me.

I agree completely. I am always looking for ways to modify the brute but the BK 9 is spot on!

I reground the edge on my Brute to make it more acute and it now outchops my BK9 hands down. Before the regrind, though, the BK9 was much better.

I've let a number of Beckers go to admiring family members, especially the younger set.

I kept my BK9.

Personally, I like the Brute for a chopper. But the BK-9 is a better all-arounder big blade.
