I have an original NIB Camillus C/U-7 that I'm tempted to start using soon.

Never been sharpened or anything.

Should I save it or start using it ?

I would have used it before now, but I only keep knives that I'll use. Not sure if the price will change any or value I should say when the new Kabar version comes out soon. They are awesome knives . I would use it if it was me, but thats me.

a strativarious violin is a fine collectible priceless musical instrument.. but I'm sure if we could travel back in time and tell the maker that people now kept them in glass cases and never touched them he/she'd laugh..something that does it's job so perfectly is meant to do that very job... use it love it... you can't take it with you... THat's my opinion for what it's worth.

My father is a professional musician and has a friend, who is a lead in the Detroit Symphony. He doesn't have a strat, but he has another 1700's vintage instrument valued at more than $1M. He uses it for his job, its a user. When asked about it, he will tell you that it plays nicely. He will also tell you that its a better investment than any real estate. He knows it will be worth even more after he's retired.

But my point is he uses it. Its not put in a safe. He takes it to the Detroit Symphony and plays that mother. Cause its meant to be used. Kind of like your knife. Use that BaBY! That's why it was made :D:D:D:

Mine cost me under $40.00 new and it gets used. Planning a survival hunting trip, to take place within the next couple of months and besides my Vic SAK, it's the blade going with me.

Are you sure KaBar is going to make the BK-7? It was my impression that they wouldn't. I have one but I'm not that impressed with it, but TETO.

Doc

I have mine set up with a nice little sheath kit, but it just sits on ready if needed. I am gonna hang loose and see what Kabar does regarding the BK7.
Honestly I am more pumped about the 1095 Neckers.

It's not like you'll get rich selling it ten years from now.
You could have ten years great use from it instead.

Ethan's around these forums sometimes.. I'm sure he'd laugh at you for not starting to use it months ago.

Thanks for the encouragement to use it.
I'm ususally not like this with stuff.
I typically use the heck out of things, maintain them and use them more.(motorcycle, table saw, vehicles, etc.) But for some reason I've Had this knife for about 3 years and never sut t thing with it.

I bougt a couple of the original Gerber Yari's when they were being DC'd. One is my main fixed blade knife and the other is NIB also.

Thanks again

Beckers make great users. They were meant to be reasonably prices blades for folks who would use them. Sadly, the closing of the Camillus plant has changed the perception. I say use it!

Also, keep in mind that the Ka-Bar Beckers will be on the market shortly so I expect that demand for the "collectable" Camillus Beckers will dwindle a bit.

Use it!
