becker crewman knife

I didn't know what the becker knives were but i did a search on them and found them. It looks like the crewman would be a better one for survival and wilderness living because it is smaller. They look like good knives.
 
I just got on from Roger at Knifeworks.com. I rewrapped the handle with OD 550 just because and I love it. A pocket tool fits well in the pouch on the sheath. It was wicked sharp on arrival. I carry it as a 24/7 fixed blade in my never leave home without it backpack. I have the tac tool as well. I can't see where you could find better hard use knives for the money.
 
If I didn't already have the BK7, I'd have probably opted for the BK11. Sure do like my 7 though.

Like the looks of the Becker Necker too.
 
Hey Guys..

I just traded a custom Crewman sheath for a Crewman,, and it's a pretty cool little knife....

I actually like it better than my #7 or 9...

Again for the price,, it's a Very good knife...
You can't go wrong with any of them in my opinion..

I actually like the blade better on the Crewman than I do the 7 or 9...

Guess it all depends on how you look at it..

What advantage do you see the blade shape of the BK7 having over the Crewman?

I have a BK7 but not the Crewman.
 
I don't own a 10, only the 7, so I could be wrong in my thinking, but it seems to me that when using the knife so that the tip has to penetrate into an object, such as to split wood or as a stabbing weapon, that the 7 would gain better penetration more easily. I also think that the shorter blade would detract from it's chopping ability some.
 
I have the 7 and 10.

The 10 is actually a better chopper than the 7 because there is slightly more material on the blade and the difference in length is only the tip. I'd say its a little more robust.

The 7 has a more defined point so it has the edge on poking/stabbing. The 7 would also make a better slicer.

My favorite is the one I have with me.
