What ever happened to the Becker Extremes with S30V and Micarta Scales? They were supposed to have been ready by Blade in June, but the rep there said they hadn't even started on them. I love my Crewman and would buy an extreme version in a heartbeat.

Patience, patience. I for one will keep whining until I have mine. Like my wife told me when we first started dating " if it's worth having it's worth waiting for", so far that's been the only thing she's been right about. Hopefully we will get an update soon, we at least have seen pics. of the prototype.

Last I heard was "late October"... :grumpy:
I'm hoping these are released within this month for Christmas time :D Still waiting though...

the picks look amazing
so where can i get a sheath like that for my crewman its way better that the original.
are all the models going to be 'EXTREAMED'

The blades are in process but still a ways away. The only Becker that is "going" Extreme at this time is the BK7 (Fighter). I guess depending on sales will dictate what Beckers follow. The Extreme is quite pricey compared to the regular BK7. I believe the MSRP is around $400. Street price should be around $300 - give or take!

Sheaths and handles may or may not be available for separate purchase. I don't believe that has been determined yet!

That should keep ME good for a while, don't know about these other guys though :D

That's quite pricey. I'm surprised it's not priced more competitively with the Swamp Rat Ratweiler.
That's more like Busse pricing.
Why is that? The high polish finish? Whatever, it's too much.
With the Ratweiler at under $200.00 and a RAT D2 available for $100.00, Camillus needs to find a way to get that price down.
Becker should stand for Extreme Quality and Value.

Yow.

That is WAY too expensive for through-hardened S30V and factory manufacture...

This is disappointing. Everyone knew the price would be higher but that is a bit "Extreme"! It will further disapoint if the scales and sheath are not available separately. That was one of the things I was counting on.
That price range will push this piece more into the collector arena in my opinion.

If the 7 is priced that high, can you imagine what the 9 would run?
There are too many well regarded semi-production pieces in that range and lower for these to be able to compete.

At that price point they will have a tough time competing. Swamp Rat has comparable knives for less. Ontario is now making the RAT-7 in D2 for a little over $100.

I love the idea of Becker Extreme, but feel the idea will be short lived at that price point.

To me, the big selling point of the Becker line is value. None of their competitors offer that much knife for a comparable price. The Extreme line puts Becker into the same arena as its higher-priced competitors. It looks like a gutsy attempt to capture some market share from the Busse folks. It will be interesting to see how they do.

I'll support almost any move an American knife company makes to survive. I hope it sells, Camillus. But count me out. As other's have written here, the price is too extreme.

I am also suprised at the price. You can go custom for that kind of money. I hope that you have luck selling those guys but I am afraid that it will be a hard sell at that price. I was looking forward to these coming out but will have to pass I am afraid. Perhaps the price will come down over time. I hope so because I did want one.

Mark,
Exactly my feelings!
