Introducing the Becker META FAQ and Discussion Thread...

Purpose: This Meta FAQ (Frequently Asked/Answered Questions) will
hopefully be the top level to a series of other FAQs providing your
first stop to finding out more about all things Becker, from quickie
pointers to common questions and threads, to detailed information about
the products, specifications, news, resources here and elsewhere, and
much much more...

The actual top level FAQ will be locked and read only to balance the
signal vs clutter :) However, discussion thread will be used to talk
about it, make suggestions, improvements, corrections, and so forth...

Please take the time to get to know the FAQ and look for the common
stuff before posting questions which are easily found here :)

Really big update to the FAQ, many more pictures, specs, and other details...
 
looks like we have just over 500 threads in this here forum... for my view, that's 20 pages of 25 posts each, and a fraction... ignoring the stickies, i'm calling it 500 threads old! happy birthday!

and i just spent some time updating the FAQ by going through all 20 pages of views, looking for likely titles, and then going to those threads and making a little sure... then more updating the FAQ. it's a lot more filled out.

will of course, have to make more than a few passes on this, and perhaps make a few edit/touchups on some things, but hey, we're not doing so bad!

read your FAQ, love your FAQ... it's is Mother, and Father, and Uncle, and ... ;)

Bladite, I'm not sure that people realize just how much work you're putting into this. It's not easy, and requires an enormous amount of time.

good as any... it's been announced that it's in the lineup. probably 2010, could be 2011. they're busy guys. no pictures, no further information...

see the Meta FAQ sticky though, for various updates and other information. almost as soon as we/i know, it'll be there.

I see in the FAQ, the Magnum camp is due out in May. Is this schedule still holding true? If not, could we update the FAQ thread? Thanks for doing this Bladite.

With May drawing to a close, it looks like SHOT is our next possible date for release...that's in June right?

FAQ has been updated. soonest we'll see the BK-05 Magnum Camp is probably the SHOT Show 2011... prototypes and more perhaps.

actually, the Magnum Camp is out NOW... FAQ updated with current specs.

as well, the BK-14 Eskabar is out, and seems to be doing quite well.

moved some pictures around, updated the news section regarding adding moderators and pointer to post, unstuck the specific new moderator post; pointer to the passaround thread... pointer to the map...

prior, document some additions to specs to various knives in new format - not complete - some knives are not done up yet. will get to it ;)

remember, if you don't read the FAQ, Santa knows!

added more specs to most knives. missing weight on BK10; need specs on Reinhardt.

okay!

o did a large reorg of how the FAQ is setup
o split out the Blades DB into it's own post, with a clickable index
o setup a new simplified MASTER "news" (for short) link with pointers to all sorts of stuff
o unstickied now repointed to stuff, so now at most two clicks to get to the good stuff
o less clutter!
o more signal, less noise!
o yee hah?
