Becker Filework

Pretty nice man....

has anyone ever continued/mirrored the filework onto the scales? i dont think ive ever seen it done, but maybe thats for a reason....

Yeah I'd say you did better than just "ok".

That looks really nice man, great job.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys.
You have inspired me to keep going with this. BK9 is up next!
Hopefully things will improve from this go around.

Had the day off so I tried some more filing. Its not finished yet but its close. It looks simpler than the first one but it was a bit harder getting all of the cutouts to match.

Question...what do makers use to fill in the gaps after they have filed and secured the handle scales?
Its a black substance of some sort and really makes the pattern pop. Any info would be much appreciated!

Thanks for looking

edit: the more I look at it, the less I am sure I like this pattern. I tried to go for the vine but the thorns are a bit too hard for my skill level at the moment. Let me know what you guys think, my opinion is a bit skewed/harsh, honesty is appreciated

Honestly? I like it quite a bit! But I think it looks more like a snake then a vine. I wld def own and carry that!

I like it man, my guess would be that it is some type of epoxy but I am not sure. Looks good though!

Thanks guys. Got some pointers from my filework mentor :D and found a recent thread with a nice rattlesnake pattern. Think I will go that route.

edit:apparently what i was looking for is 44/40 cold gun blue

i should invest in a file company. i suspect a lot will be sold soon.

Very nice.
I tried that once and it looked like I dropped it out of a fast moving car.

Really nice work, love the snake. Actually see the rattlers and head, very cool.
