The canvas grips on the last couple of shots are great! I'm looking forward to adding this one to my collection. Heck, I might get one for everyone in the family.

By "release date" you should mention that KA-BAR *might* get the knives on trucks to the dealers a week after that date, and then the dealers have to process them into their stock, and then the dealers *might* get around to selling them to you, and by 5/1 after you've chewed all your fingernails off you *might* be holding your new toy :D

IOW release dates, like MSRPs, are at best just a general guideline... sort of a friendly suggestion.

Very nice work,
Could you show a picture of how the 15 compares with the BK2
The blade is 5.5 inches and so is the BK2's blade
And how does this knife do in the kitchen?
Thanks,

Excellent pics bladite, thanks for the info.

the sheath looks pretty damn good.....

How could you?!

I think I'm gonna end up buying all the Shorts and I think this one may very well be the first.

Thanks for taking the time with the pictures.....although they do little to appease my yearning!

The sheaths are the best I've seen to date from Kabar on the BKT's.

I like them, alot, but I put mine in a Spartan Sheath I got from Curt Iovito, one of the owners.

Double tap.

Better make the best of it.

That sheath does look good. And the knife is okay. :D
Can't wait to see the lazer etch!

Dang it. Got drool in my beard.

That looks ridiculous with the micarta on! Sheath looks fantastic too... I'm starting to freak....

they're very different knives, but i've given you a perfect comparison shot (with instant cell phone satisfaction)

it's one of the nicest steak knives i've ever used. i'll probably be using one at a local steak house soon, though i've often used the BK14, as it's more discreet :)

i should think it'll do most kitchen chores quite admirably, though a dedicated santuko type blade is best for vegetable/etc, you can power through some tough things - just don't make the mistake of using force where you can slip :>
