I don't remember seeing this in the various Becker threads, but what is the GV6H handle material on the Becker knives is like? Is it something like G10 or is it like kraton? How is it when wet? Thanks in advance.

GV6H is a glass-filled nylon polymer alloy that contains up to 60% glass. It is extremely tough and is considered unbreakable by human hands in certain shapes.

I have few pieces of GV6h the shape of knife scales and they are unbreakable by my 6-1, 215 lb hands

As a molded material it be in a variety of colors and textures. the examples I handled on the BKT line are smooth and "frosted" not too slick, and not too rough. Just perfect.

I dont believe it would soak solvents, etc.

Thanks Anthony,

But.....
I REALLY hate the word 'unbreakable',...because somebody out there will look at this as a challange

Gv6H is really tough stuff, and considering that it is bolted to a full tang of carbon steel, I'm not to worried about anyone breaking the scales without the help of heavy tools or power tools.

It is hard, and finished with a matte 'frosted' texture. Alot of thought went into these handles to make them the best 'large, heavy duty knife handles' we could design. Ethan Becker LOVES them,....I think you will too.

I had an original Becker and deeply regret the day I sold it!!!! It was a very good knife and would have done every task you could have asked of it!!! I am going to buy the new version as soon as they come out!!!
