After reading many threads on this forum, I have noticed on several occasions, people mentioning Bentons Bacon.
We have a little family owned meat market here in my town that makes some outstanding bacon, as well as the best beef jerky I've ever eaten.
I have shipped over 70 pounds of the jerky to soldiers in AFG in the past few years and they have all raved over it. We're not supposed to ship them bacon. What a shame.
I just ordered a couple of four packs of Bentons to see what the fuss is about. We'll see if it stacks up to Zimmermans.
I hate waiting.
 
I'm going to need a pack of that Zimmerman's so I can make an informed comparison. :p
 
No such thing as a "pack" from Zimmermans. It's weighed out on the scale and wrapped in butcher paper, not a vacuum sealed package.
Old school.
 
I'm in on the Zimmerman's too. Where and how do I buy this. Bacon fight!!!!!!!!!!

So, how do you ship it? I'm not exactly sure my mailman would be willing to put some butcher paper in my mailbox, but I'd be willing to try!
 
yup - need a city and state -- unless it really is the one in Marine City, Mi.
 
Yes, it's the shop in Marine City. I don't think they ship their products and I sure don't want them to become so popular that I have to wait five weeks for my bacon!!!

Hmm....maybe I could become a bacon broker?
 
So, this whole thread's sole purpose was to rub it in our face that you've got some great bacon that you refuse to share, and you ordered some Benton's too?

That's kind of what I got out of it.
And they say us folks from New York are nasty!

At least take a picture and post it so we can see the stuff,

I am hurt and visably shaken,
Cause your mean and I ain't got no bacon,

In the mornin you eat pork,
And here we sit with empty fork,

Take our names and make a log,
And start to share that freekin hog,

If you stay here that is fine,
But we'd like you more if we had some swine

No, it was to point out that on interest in BKT knives led me to a new source for bacon and vent my frustration with having to wait five weeks to find out if Bentons is any better than my local favorite.
I guess you could contact Zimmermans. They may be willing to ship. My shop is about four blocks from them, so I never asked if they offer that service.

Outstanding! Did you write that off the cuff?

I'm sure all of you have a local favorite bacon. At least I hope you do!
 
That's what I'm talkin about! Bacon in all of its glory!

But really, is Bentons the best of the best? Worth the wait? I need to know!
