I'd like to hear all your opinions : which ones ta use which ones to not use! Which ones should be safe queens which ones should not! What do you think?

Oh goodness.... I tend to view all mine as users, if I had some rare varients or something, maybe some of the older Camillus blades, rare roll stamps or smooth coatings or something I might safe queen them.....but currently I have 1 of each, they are all newer production, nothing rare or special, and all users....

Beckers more than any other knife I've owned seems to be MADE to be used...a lot of knives come with fancy mirror polish, handles that don't lend themselves well to actual hard use, steels that are hard to maintain, none of that nonsense on a Becker....just good honest workhorse knives made to be worked.

just my 0.02.....YMMV

To me, knives in general (not just Beckers) are tools. Tools are meant to be used. That isn't to say that I don't appreciate the attention to detail and embellishments that some custom makers put into their blades. And if someone wants to collect knives like that it's certainly not my business. I just like to have tools that make my life easier. So to me, all Beckers are users. :-)

The only safe queen Becker for me is my roll stamped - saber ground bk16. Once I find a second one, one will be getting used.

Users.
Unless you're a squirrel like Bladite. I don't think there's enough time before the heat-death of the universe for him to use all his Beckers.

I guess it depends on what makes the buyer/owner happiest. I use some and squirrel some, and the ones I use have duplicates squirreled away too. I'm probably around halfway through life, and have seen time and again that the items I love end up discontinued by the time I wear it out, break it, or lose it. Then I'm stuck with trying to find the "next best" replacement. When guys like me die, the kids either inherit a great collection of loot, or collectors jump on all the time-capsuled treasures at inflated prices.

So I guess feel free to bang on your gear as hard as you want. There will always be a squirrel out there somewhere who's got a NIB replacement...............for a price.

I use all mine.
I wouldn't keep a Becker as a safe queen.
It would seem a tragedy...

Users.
Every. Single. One.

If my very first Sebenza, that was born on the same day as my daughter is a user, why would a knife designed from the beginning to fulfill a utilitarian role be any different?
---------
The One exception would be if I had acquired a signed Becker.

I would say all Beckers would go into the use category EXCEPT a new Bk1 or Patrol Machete... Those would probably go to the safe.

I use all of mine, with the exception of the necker proto.

The only one that I baby is the 15 that Ethan gave me at a gathering. I had it customized some, and I just love it. Its a carefull user, not a beater like most of my other Beckers.

Yea, I use all of mine except the ones I keep stock to make sheaths from and my secret stash of Saber 16's.

So, not to get off track, but do the same opinions apply to the 4,5, and 15 for those who said they would use all of them? Just curious due to the discontinuation...

From what I've seen from your collection I'd use em all except for the rare ones...The old 2 you picked up would deff be a safe queen, along with those pinkys...

Once I accumulate all the beckers I want I plan on buying 2 extra of my favorites and putting em away. That way one day(hopefully very long time from now) both my kids will inherit brand new Beckers to do with as they please.

I have a whole set I use. I have 3 extra bk 1's The 2 bk77 's the bk 11. & 14 serrated both bk 2's serrated and the bk2 Ethan made & both bk71 and bk 101 well I won't use any of those

Why pay extra for a collectable then destroy its value/collectability?

I don't hesitate to grab my refurbed BK10 user and head out but my Limited Edition BK10 doesn't leave the house.
