Becker knives " to use or not to use"

Still, they were meant to be used. This thread needs some more pitchers. FYI, this Brute came to me unused in the original box. But what's th point of owning a Ferrari if you never take it out of the garage?

I even (GASP!) took it to the grinder. Now....it actually is useful.

The ONLY one(s) I wouldn't use would be something signed by Ethan....or a BK-8 (or something like Dubz' one-off). Luckily, Bladite and Ethan have all the 8's so..... I USE the ones I have.

But hey, different strokes. I've swung one of everything, I think, with the exception of the RBK. The 6 & the 3 weren't mine, everything else was. My belief if that they are working tools and not priceless relics.

The bk 1 is my favorite. That's why I have more of those. There's one on that world famous bidding site right now

Don't get me wrong. Oh I use em. Just not the ones I paid alot of money for that are rare
 
The knives that cannot be readily replaced tend to get squirreled away. I too have duplicates (some even with back-up duplicates)- users and keepers as I like to call them. This is especially the case of the BK4s, 15s and my beloved BK5s. It is especially true of a knife that Ethan gave me, which I had him autograph for me.
 
lots of knives in rotation... lots of axes and tools and ...

tons of Beckers. some of them are one of a kind, and yeah, for sure they won't get used. history. memories.

been at this decades. things accumulate. doesn't take a lot of space or time or worry.

prototypes are pretty cool. shows evolution of tools.

plenty more to use left...

lots to come too...

why get hung up it?

I have a couple of saber 16s that I don't use because I have 2 ffg that get lots of use. Other than that, all my Beckers get used, some more than others. I totally understand safe queens for collectables.
I look for users of hard to get blades for two reasons...1-cheaper, 2-i can usem! If I only find NIB and its reasonable, well...I end up with a safe queen I guess.
I'd like to think(so I tell my wife) if I came accross a user then I'll sell the NIB and get back some money but you know what really happens...
 
I only have four, i use them all. If I had two of each i would heavily modify one of each and use them both. If i had three of each I would loan one of each to friends and pretend i only had two of each. Now if i had four of each...

The only ones i would not use are the likes of the BK1, unless I had two.
 
If Ethan's signature is on it, I wouldn't use it. All others are users.
Sadly I don't have one with Ethan's signature, so mine are users and I think that is what Ethan intended.
