Becker patina thread

I did a forced patina on this one a while back, nuked that and started over. The current patina is a natural result of frequent KP duty. Looks ok to me.

I sandwiched it in sliced grape fruit (2 slices on bottom, 2 slices on top, with the handles off) set a heavy pan on it overnight. The grape fruit stinks in the morning, so be ready:)

What exactly was your method? Just put slices on the blade of what?

The best part about a patina is that you can just sand it off and do it again!!! As for protection, I thought a patina alone would protect it and I was wrong. Played in the woods, sheathed it and two days later there was rust on the blade. I live on the coast and this may be just the salt air but the patina and some oil and it not only protects well but brings out the patina better.

By the way that grapefruit is my favorite so far...fricken sweet man!!!
