My understanding was that Ka-Bar doesn't have the capabilities to make a blade that large yet.
That's crap. What the heck are they doing with all my money then?Expand, improve production.
Factory capabilities? I'm no expert but they make 14" blades...

And large curves...

I'd guess it's more like they don't believe they have the capability to make a profit on it. Re-tooling machines and all is probably expensive. I'd guess they'd sell for somewhere between $100-$150 so it's a bit of an investment for a somewhat specialized tool that won't necessarily have a broader public appeal. I think they'd sell some but I wouldn't be surprised if the sales projections on this aren't that great.
