Just wanted to make a thread to show you guys some of my work and latest designs. Please let me know what you think, good or bad since I am constantly trying to improve my craft, I appreciate all comments. I will be posting some current work as well as some of my older and newer personal sheaths.

This is not a sales thread so please don't ask how much or stuff like that. I will make a thread soon in the sheath section of blade forums for questions pertaining to sales.

Just trying to get some feed back from my fellow Beckerheads about my work.

I think I have finally finished my design for the large Becker knives. These two sheaths are for the BK-10 but will also be made for the BK-2 with just a few small changes. Also make them for the 7 and 12 just a little longer.

This first one is a solid brown one.

This next one is something a little different I wanted to try out. It is a two tone black and brown. I am waiting on more solid black snaps to arrive and will probably change these out when they arrive.

This is the basic model. I have different attachments that are able to be interchanged such as ferro rod holders or pouches. I am almost finished making an attachment that will hold a small tin like on my BK-2 sheath seen here:

Also they can be changed out to left or right handed. I also have an attachment that would convert the sheath to a belt carry either regular or dangler. I will post pics as soon as I'm happy with the design.

Thanks for looking.

They all look awesome, but damn.... The two tone sheath takes the cake.

Thanks Jerry! I really like it too. I've said before that I always prefer solid black for everything I own but I am sure loving the browns now. Especially when mixed with black.

Damn buddy. You make me not even want to try to make my own leather sheaths and have you make them for me!

I too like the two tone one. I would like to see it with the black snaps.

I have been wearing your BK-11 sheath every chance I get. The more it breaks in, the more comfortable and easier to use it gets.

Thanks Jeremy. And give me a call when you are ready to make yours and I'll help you out as much as I can. It's not that hard, just very time consuming.
Glad you are enjoying the 11 sheath!

Agree the two tone is sexy Dex!

Thank you TBL. I'm liking the two tone more and more. Gonna make more of those for sure.

Completely sick man. Really nice work. :thumb up:

Thank you Dubz!

the only thing wrong with those is that I DON'T HAVE ONE!
the two-tone IS sweet.
I'd probably consider putting a grommet of appropriate size around the rapid-release strap hole to keep it from stretching, but don't know if it would work as well that way.

Very nice work man. Very clean and nice quality. I like when there are options like you said they can be right or left and can be changed to belt knife etc.

Dex, honestly, those are terrible....y awesome.

I don't normally even look at leather because here it ALWAYS grows mold. But those are changing my mind.

Both are spectacular but the two tone is amazing and really has me thinking. I'd love to see it with the black snaps. I kinda like daizee's grommet idea too. Thanks for showing us. You do incredible work.

Awesome stuff yet again Dex. I'm lovin' the brown one - and I agree it'd look even better with the black snaps. Your attention to detail really shows, especially with the stitching (that's always the first thing My OCD looks at on leather sheaths; yours looks very impressive indeed). Nicely done!!

Thanks Daizee!

And you talking about for the hole for the thumb stud I am guessing? Yea it would look very cool but I don't think it would work for this application. I actually cut the hole a size smaller that it needs to be, then I stretch it and burnish the inside of the hole for a perfect fit. The leather I use on the retention strap is right about 11 to 12 ounces so it should be good for a life time. Also, I think any metal against the thumb stud would scratch the finish since they are brass and are coated. I actually rubbed the thumb stud against something hard by accident and it scratched the black off. It took me like 15 minutes to grind that stud off and put a new one. haha :D

Nicely done! The Sam Browne studs are so cool.

Thank you knifeleather. Yes they are. I was very skeptical when I first tried them out back in 2009 or 2010 because all I ever used was snaps my whole life. Let me tell you, if they are done right, they are better than any snap could ever be. Very quiet and only open if you want it too.

Thank you tman. I am an option guy myself. And since I'm a lefty, I know the problems my fellow southpaws face living in this right handed world. Haha.
I made them so the retention parts just unbolt and can be switched out for a left handed set. I also love pouches and ferro rod holders, but sometimes I want to run my sheath's as clean as possible with no distractions. haha.

The belt carry option I am trying to perfect is not the kind that just loops thru the scout carry straps and the sheath hangs off that. It's actually a whole separate piece that replaces the current retention set up. It will be like having two totally separate sheaths.

Also have some Leather MOLLE straps I am working on so the sheath can be attached to a pack securely either horizontally or vertically.

Thank you GSOM! Leather is where it's at in my opinion. haha. And dude if you are getting mold on your leather, something is wrong. lol

I actually spend a lot of time working on the finish and protection of the leather. Trust me, I have tried so many things trying to get it right. I have finally found something that is working for me but I am constantly trying to figure out better ways of dong things. I even treat the inside differently than the outside and make it almost water proof, well kinda. I like the leather to be able to breathe but at the same time not rot or mold like you say when exposed to the elements.

But I do have to say that leather is a little more work than let's say kydex and does need to be cared for and conditioned from time to time.

super awesome dex! i may have get one to replace my kydex :D

Thanks man! Kydex has it's place and I like making that too but there is just something about a nice leather sheath that speaks to the soul. It's so organic and real I think.

Beautiful work brother.

Thank you my friend.

Thanks a lot mbay! And yes the black snaps do look so much better, I am waiting on some with longer posts to arrive and that may take a while so I put these for the time being.

Thank you Aikiguy. I am OCD as well and let me tell you, I am still not completely happy with this stitching. haha. I have tried about 5 different methods of making my holes and the damn groover is also kicking my butt. I think I have found a way to make them even better and will try it out on my next sheath. I agree with you, the stitching on a sheath has a huge impact on the overall appearance and like ability in my opinion, as well as function.

I love the looks of good leather, and that my friend is some great leather work... But i do like the price, retention, and ease of cleaning when it comes to kydex. Plus if i fall or jump in the water its a non-issue...

But the way you do the straps on top covers the retention issue.

I was originally thinking of getting leather for my big giedymin blade, i wanted a baldric style sheath for it... But i was told it would cost an insane amount....I guess i understand... It is a HUGE knife.... 710 had to make a new kydex press just for it LMAO

Keep up the great work man!!
