Becker Sheaths

Looking good! I missed this thread when you started it.

Of course the sheaths look great, but you also take some really nice pictures.

Having seen Dex's work up close, I can easily say his is definitely in the top tier of quality leather sheaths you can get. Easily top 3 makers for Becker leather sheaths. And his attention to detail is unparalleled.

I noticed on coyleoutdoors.com that Dex uses the Hedgehog Leatherworks patented shock cord design under an official license. That says a lot about the legitimacy of these sheaths. Does anyone know how they compare side by side? I've wanted sheaths like these forever, but I always buy another knife before getting one, though. I need pants.

Some sexy looking pants there Dex!

Thanks Buddy!

Beautiful work Dex. You just keep raising the bar.

Thank you man.

Really nice looking sheaths Dex!

Thanks!

Functionable and Beautiful, love your work, especially like the brown Bk2 scout sheath.

Thanks Gassy. That BK-2 sheath is one of my personal favorites so far.

The black/two-tone is killer. This makes me have a harder time deciding between cow and kydex!

Haha. I prefer leather because it is so organic and natural, but kydex works too.

Wow Dex you are just plain GOOD at this!!!

Thank you.

Totally b@dass. You planning on making an RBK sheath when it comes out? :D

Thanks man. And absolutely I will be making one for the RBK! Just need to get my hands on one! haha

Thanks Silver Needle. And I am just getting back into Photography. Finally got a nice digital camera. Took 4 semesters of B&W photography back in college and kinda stepped away for a few years when the digital age came about. haha

Really like that BK16 sheath!

Thanks man. The production one's are a little different. Almost done getting everything worked out. Have one for the BK-15 too. The 15 sheath is made to fit the 16 and 17 in it as well if needed.

What's a price on that newest bk2 sheath?

I'm also very interested..

I will be updating my website soon guys. If you are interested sooner, just shoot me an email and we can chat about it.

Wow..... Thanks Derek. Means a lot coming from you brother. And my attention to detail is just my OCD getting the best of me. haha

Hey Rick, Yea I think that Paul's retention system design is one of the coolest features you can add to a sheath with a retention strap. It is so simple, yet so practical. I used it on my first scout sheath back in 2009 before he had it patented. And I have put it on every one of my personal sheaths since then.

When I decided to make sheaths for the public, I reached out to Paul because in my mind, it is a far superior design than most other methods. I usually try and come up with my own way to do things, but I haven't come up with anything that functions this good yet. I have made a couple changes to the original design to fit my style though.
To me it is worth licensing it from Hedgehog cause without that feature, I feel like my sheaths would be an inferior product.

I don't actually own one of Paul's sheaths, but I can tell you that his company produces excellent work. He is one of just a handful of makers that I strive to be in the ranks of one day.

Dex's sheath craftsmanship is rivaled only by his mastery of the multi-quote. I still lust over that two tone BK10 sheath.

This one has been embedding itself in my brain. I'm starting to get ancy about it...

Btw, Dex... I liked that pic so much, I made it mine

I thought I would give this leatherworking thing out. Turns out there is a lot more to it than I first imagined. I didn't have the budget to buy a high end, top quality sheath for my BK2. This is what I came up with for my needs. I wanted a drop leg to not interfere while lugging my pack around. It fits nice and snug, but comes out with a little pressure. This is my first shot at it. After a few weeks in the dirt with it, there will be a second one coming with a few small design changes.
