If you could pick a new steel for your favorite Becker or Beckers to made in, what would you choose? Or would you keep with what works and stay with 1095?

I'd love to have a s30v bk16, and a 3v bk9

Beckers even started with 4040 and others. 1095 is a mainstay. We already have had s30v, and d2, 440, and San Mai, and ...

1095cv works for most things

I completely agree I have no complaints out of 1095cv, that's why I wouldn't wanna change my favorite the bk2 at all lol..

I'd only change the others to compare how identical designs with identical blade geometry perform....supposed superior steels against tried and true 1095cv.

I would love to see the bk15 in s30v, or really all of the tweeners in s30v. Mainly because for my personal use, these are the kind of blades I'll toss in a vehicle and leave there.

1095CV works great me thinks. I've never sharpened my 9 after all the batoning, etc, I've done with it, and it still shaves.

I like the 1095 crovan. I have s30v on my bk 77's. Beautiful. But it won't keep the cost down

I would still love a supersteel run of the tweeners, but I get why they havent done it. A 3v RBK would make me warm in my guts too, but that would be a pricey chunk of steel.

For 99% of applications, i'd still pick 1095. That said, a BK14 in 154cm, uncoated, with TKC scales would be pretty darned sexy.
While I'm at it, I'd love to see it with the slightly longer Izula 2 handle length. It would be an ideal EDC knife.

A BK9 with FFG in 3V would be ideal, but I don't know if I'd be worthy to use something like that.

I am very content with 1095cv, it's served me very well in the woods with nary a fault.

Exactly this, all of it!

you're not

where's your number?

the 7 in s30v is nifty. it's worthy, but i really haven't noticed many differences beyond like of coating.

'Course I'm not, my number is in my sig now, was whipping something up in photoshop that didn't look awful.

keep working on it

needs some Brown and Serenity :D

The only downside to a premium steel is the premium price associated with it. Thou cold steel managed to do a budget 3v model, so I'm sure it's possible. Thou would be nice to have a premium Becker line, maybe like made to order type deal..pick your model, then pick your steel then wait a few months lol

And before anyone suggests having a custom maker make a Becker design in s30v or 3v, it wouldn't be the same. I would rather have a genuine Becker in 1095cv vs a custom knock off in steel of choice.
