Humans do not live by bread or blade alone... we must also quench our thirst. The "rule of threes" tells us that 3 days without water is a very, very dangerous thing. (Some would say that three days without beer can be pretty dangerous, too... but I digress.)

I know many of you rascals have a great deal of experience and trial-and-error invested in this topic; thus, I ask you all to indulge our curiosity by sharing your expertise.

So! Please share your favorite dehydration-defeating libation containers here.

Whether it's a favorite beer mug or shot glass, a canteen/water bottle you like to take on short hikes, a "Camel-Bak" type rig or a rainwater-collection system and 1,000-gallon cistern you've set up in your backyard to get your garden through times of drought... let's see 'em!

Pics are strongly encouraged, of course. :)

I'll be posting some pics of my faves whenever I get around to it... in the meantime, I cede the floor.

Boom goes the bourbon. My most regular imbibement of late has been the Col Taylor Small Batch. Good bourbon, but it doesn't dent the bank balance like some of the other varieties.

As far as containers, I do like the Todd Hunt sized mug he gave me. It holds about a six pack.

Excellent!

How about a nice Ka-Bar Brown Ale in an official Ka-Bar pint glass to keep the party going?

Very special thanks to the fine folks at Ka-Bar, Ethan Becker and Moose & Guyon... who kindly gifted me both the beer and the glass at the 2013 BLADE show. Cheers!

Here is one more item I like. It's a little titanium flask that Backcountry.com clearanced out a few years back. Perfect lightweight carrier for that warm-me-up snort on a cold day.

tradewater introduced me to the Swedish folding bowls and cups. They are stackable and make for good hot chocolate mugs.

I'm also partial to my Liberty water bottles. Made here in the USA, and they fit my Maxped man purses perfectly.

Guyot / Nalgene goodness. Despite the apparent discontinuation, I've managed to grab a spare in each of these designs.

Ok, hard to follow Biscuit's posts, but here is a pic of 20 year old Pappy we enjoyed on Dec 22, 2013 - on my 46th birthday.

2013+-+1

I had bought a bottle ages ago, but have not had any luck finding one recently.

I suspect that in the cold grey light of dawn, further posts will shift away from booze and more towards water... :p

I cannot even come close to what Guyon posted. But when I go anywhere I think I may need water, I bring my Camelbak mule. My family really depends on the Camelbak, we love them. Sorry this is an old pic because I normally do not photo my gear unless there is a Beckerized-reason to do so. If that makes any sense.

You will have a harder time. Word I got is that VW widened its distribution network to include resorts and casinos. That means a lot less for everybody else.

Same here. My children and I truck with Camelbaks. My HAWG has the new Antidote reservoir, which is a step up from past versions IMO.

In the hot chocolate department, I also like the cups that come with the Stanley cook pot. Good insulation for little lips and hands.

Agreed on the Antidote reservoir. I have been considering the upgrade as we get closer to summer.

Just picked up some Primus camp cups. They're more compact (stackable) but also offer the insulation like the Stanley cups.

i like me the stainless nalgenes but the big ones are hard to get a hold of

combine that with a Griptilion, and life is grand...

The Griptions are hard to get ahold of, at least in new condition with all the parts.
Some have popped up on the 'bay, but they were used, and Derek said one was missing an O-ring.
Not long before I started looking, a brand new one sold for a steal, but that's been a while ago now.
I've gone probably 30 pages deep on Google looking and calling places but no go. Hope springs eternal.
If anyone runs across a cache of them, you know where to find me.

i made sure to buy 50 one time ;)

gave them all away but a few.

Ethan is getting one for a present

then it's my personally slobbered on ones.

shame, great thing

do remember to clean those washers now and again, or they will leak

"Wine Rack" bra and "Beer Belly" thingamabob...

That is amazing! I wonder if I can convince my wife to wear both the next time we go to the movies... shes pregnant again... which would explain the bigger rack / belly. Since I'll be the one drinking.. she can DD home! DAMN!

Back in the day, for football games, we just duct-taped a zip-lock bag to our bellies. Always best to double-up in case of a leak.
I once snuck a fifth of Jim Beam into an Auburn ball game in my waist band, and all I had on was a t-shirt and shorts. That was a fun game.
