Post up your progress for May for MYB and BSP. GET FIT!

Scoring:

The idea is simple. Move your body. Get fitter.

Between the dates of (insert current month) 1 and (insert current month) 31, the challenge is to earn 50 Becker Points. Points can be earned in the following fashion:

1 mile (1.6 km) on foot = 1 Becker Point
3 miles (4.8 km) road cycling = 1 Becker Point
2 miles (3.2 km) mountain biking = 1 Becker Point
1 mile (1.6 km) swimming = 4 Becker Points

Yoga - 12 min = 1 Becker Point

If you just do one thing, you'll need to hoof it 50 miles, or road bike 150 , or mountain bike 100 miles, or swim 12.50 miles. You may combine items to build toward 50 Becker Points in any fashion you choose. Honor system in play.
This thread will be the place where people report in on their progress.

BSP:

200 light reps = 1 BSP
100 medium reps = 1 BSP
50 heavy reps = 1 BSP
30 very heavy reps = 1 BSP
300 heavy punching bag combos = 1BSP

Definitions:

Light rep: a rep that can be done 15+ times without resting. Most body weight exercises will fall into this category.

Light - 15+ reps
Medium - 7-14 reps
Heavy - 3-6 reps
Very Heavy - 1-2 reps

Starting this month off with

myb: 0 - still kinda nursing the foot a bit saved the torture for the leg work out
bsp: 5 - legs.

Been so busy, hard to keep up my points on the last thread. I promise I'm moving my butt though! Probably going to back off on counting points so much but will stay tuned to the conversation :)

bsp: +2 = 7 - was tired today. Slept in. Worked out after dinner pushup and situps

Good thing you're working out and posting, Tim.....otherwise this thread would be on page three or four by now! I have been doing....nothing. At least not the kinda stuff that counts here. Mowed the lawn last night...which is uphill both ways, so...
Been archerizing as much as possible, too. Not getting fatigued much at all anymore, even if I go cross-eyed and have to hold the draw for 30 seconds or so...

Hopefully it won't rain tomorrow. I need to get a couple more rides in before next weekend; otherwise that 100k charity ride is going to kick my ass.

I'm trying Mike! Waking up sore, with no energy, or drive sucks. But I find if I stay in my routine, same time every morning, I just get up and do it.

NP Cap ;)

Nope, haven't heard anything from CF in a while. Hope he's doing well.

30 mile ride this evening chasing the sunset. Gotta be more a little more attentive with the chamois cream application....post ride shower was, uh....mildly excruciating (due to some chafing in areas missed by haphazard ride prep....). OK, enough with the TMI.

MYB: 10 points, earned with blood.

bsp: +5 = 21 - leg day!

Leg day for me, too....as in, unbelievable leg cramps waking me up in the wee hours of the morning. Luckily, no one can hear me huffing and swearing at that hour. First the right leg ham started spasming, then - much more painful - the left leg groin/quad. Holy shiwhathefu......hasn't happened in a while, but....really wish i had a clue as to why and what might prevent it.

I hate leg cramps! I know what that's like! I've read a few articles and each one doesn't give a definitive answer as to what causes it. Some say lack of certain vitamins, and other others not enough water. I'm loaded up on both, but if I flex my legs in bed they lock up tight if I hold it for more then 1 sec lol. Worse after I've been lying down for a while.

Cameron struggles with leg cramps and he feels like the more protein in his diet, the less it happens. It could be the protein, or a nutrient that comes along with it. I've been taking a little extra magnesium and eating avocados for potassium lately, but I am not sure it it helps. I don't get full on cramping in my legs, just crazy DOMS.

Went for a 2 mile walk/run (mostly "running") this evening. Getting faster and running longer, even tho it's been more than a week since I last went. Got a 62 mile charity bike ride on Sunday - probably be most of my MYB points for the month! - but had to do something. Saw a couple rabbits on the off-road portion. Saw a fox the other day while riding. Actually I see rabbits (Eastern cottontail) every single day...they live in my back 40, and I see them nearly every morning and evening. Anywho, fingers crossed for a night's sleep....

MYB: 2+10=12 BP for June so far.

Damn, this is like a little private thread for the three of us....

Cycling today. Tour de Cure ride for the American Diabetes Association (ADA). My brother and I have done this for at least the past ten years (I have a little research to do to find out when we started) for my mom's birthday; she just turned 82 and has been insulin dependant for ~45 years. We rode the 100k loop, which was a little over 63 miles. Nice day for it - not hot and NOT raining. Had some wind, but....great ride and the feedbag for lunch included make-your-own-burgers with guacamole and....BACON! Totally awesome......especially after nearly 4 hrs. on the bike. I'm still standing, so....didn't kill me. Lots of diabetic riders, including a New England beer brewing legend who I met a couple years ago at this same event. Anyway....

MYB: 21+12=33

myb: 2 - walked our newly adopted 'puppy'
bsp: +3 = 28 pull ups, back extensions, core.

MYB: +2 +2 +2.5 = 8.5 - walking / jogging with my new partner!
bsp: +3 = 31 pushups situps and dips!

Awesome biking Mike! And they fed you bacon!!! that's just icing on the cake!

now I want bacon.....

myb: +2 last night + 3 this morning = 15.5 - love jogging / playing with the dog. Was doing wind sprints back and forth while she chased me to tire her out. She still wants to play... I want to go back to bed lol.
bsp: knees are feeling it after all the walking / running. Decided to skip leg day this week.
