Beckerhead MYB / "Spartan" Fitness June

Hiked 8 miles over the weekend doing camping stuff, so 50 added lbs. Hopefully now that school ended I can get going on my workouts again.

Yay, somebody else posted in this thread besides me, TBL and Cap!

Cycling today. Tour de Cure ride for the American Diabetes Association (ADA). My brother and I have done this for at least the past ten years (I have a little research to do to find out when we started) for my mom's birthday; she just turned 82 and has been insulin dependant for ~45 years. We rode the 100k loop, which was a little over 63 miles. Nice day for it - not hot and NOT raining. Had some wind, but....great ride and the feedbag for lunch included make-your-own-burgers with guacamole and....BACON! Totally awesome......especially after nearly 4 hrs. on the bike. I'm still standing, so....didn't kill me. Lots of diabetic riders, including a New England beer brewing legend who I met a couple years ago at this same event. Anyway....

MYB: 21+12=33

Ran/walked a couple miles this am before a doctor's appt.....they said my blood pressure was kinda high - not surprisingly, considering I got home from the run, showered quickly and was at the office 20 min. later...
Also mowed the lawn tonight, which is always about an hour of sweating - I should pedometer it, I guess. Lots of uphill mowing.

2+33=35 MYB pts.

myb: +2 last night + 3 this morning = 15.5 - love jogging / playing with the dog. Was doing wind sprints back and forth while she chased me to tire her out. She still wants to play... I want to go back to bed lol.
bsp: knees are feeling it after all the walking / running. Decided to skip leg day this week.

myb: +3 = 18.5 - doggie running!
bsp: +4 = 37 - pushups situps and dips!

Welcome back KingMc!

Thursday and Friday were exceptionally busy work days involving constant movement and high-output activity, according to the pedometer I walked 3 miles a day above my average and I was certainly sweating hard and felt wiped afterwards, so I'll toss those into my MYB points.

8+6=14 MYB

Also I did about 1.5 hours of sawing just now, helped the parents take down a dead portion of a dogwood, turns out hardwood doesn't saw easily with a saw meant for green wood. Anyway, would consider that equal to maybe 2 BSP, my upper body feels like I went to the gym.

2 BSP

Proof of tree existence.

I did manage to finish the day with a 6-mile bike ride on a local trail, not much but worth it.

You're supposed to use a chainsaw for tree removal, silly! Unless, of course, you WANT to get exercise.

At least you're keeping Tim from being the only poster in this thread....

No chainsaw available, I wasn't the one who was hosting I was only the manual labour. It sucked sitting on the ground for nearly 40 minutes getting the last cut in at ground level, but at least I got some exercise. I'll be attempting to fit more stuff in in the next month as I have an obstacle course run in late July that I need to prepare for.

Had z friend get me to go on a 5-mile beach walk today along Alki, sunny as heck and not too hot.

Took a ride along the beach today (the last half, anyway) - totally nutz the amount of people out (that's why only half the ride). 30 miles.

MYB: 10+35=45 pts. for the month.

Been sweating the rest of the afternoon trying to get the pool open. Lookin' pretty green at the moment.

walked to work yesterday, one-way trip of 4 miles. rode the bus to work today and walked 1 mile total. I'm at work and plan on walking the 4 miles back, so I'll update with those if they happen.

23+5=28 MYB

Edit: totally walked home, another 4 miles and some damn good cardio due to the 15% grade of the hill on the way.

28+4=32 MYB

When you got nothing its called rest ;) and we all need it to keep going! I'm not getting enough of it currently. Taking tomorrow off.... maybe. :D

I sprained my foot trying crossfit... but still not missing workouts because holy cow crutches are some sort of devil contraption for your upper body

Sorry to hear of your setback cap! I know how crappy a sprained foot / ankle is! I was off mine for 3 weeks, and was still stiff when I started up again.

Heal up fast! good luck with those upper body workouts!

This morning I went for a mtn bike ride for the first time in a while, did nearly 2 hours or riding and covered 14 miles before making it back to the car.

40+7=47 MYB

You know when the name of the trail is 'Technical' it might be a bit difficult.
