I think a lot of the newer heads have yet to try the fantastical-ness that is 5.11 packs. Would stop them voting for Maxped methinks.

Wow, tough question. Limited choices. I have JanSports, L.L.Bean, North Face, Camel backs, hunting packs & just the other day got a cheap ass W-Mart desert tan mini-pack w/Molle webbing (really like it actually & put my BK15 on it) & even had a med US Army Alice pac. I like them all. But recently i must confess, the Molle webbing seems to be the way to go. It just has endless possibilities.

A lifetime warranty is a REAL bonus. I have sent back a Jansport & they fixed it, a North Face & they fixed it. Wayyy cool.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I own a 511 rush 24 and I still like my buddies maxped Falcon 2 better (I just like how its set up and put together). don't get me wrong 511 makes great stuff but I like max gear too.

Ditto. My backpacking pack is a Kelty Coyote.
Of choices for EDC/ non backpacking woods use, an ALICE is the way to go IMHO. For a write-in in the same use, anything that follows the basic MOLLE 3 day pack.

I have a 4 year old Camelbak pack that I carry everyday to work. Goes in my truck, goes on my back when I'm on my motorcycle...has not had a zipper or strap failure during that time. for hunting I've been using a Cabela's Scout pack for about 7 years. Holds everything I need and has yet to fail me. The other ones listed might be great packs but they don't fit my needs so I can't speak on them.
