Beckerhead Resolutions?

I resolve to use my mental filter and not tell people what i really think and to buy a bk24 and find out what all the buzz is about this non 1095CV steel people speak of....

Not a Beckerhead in the sense of the title here (yet.... :p),but have become a HUGE Becker fan this year...that said, other than to buy and use more Becker knives,I haven't had a cig or cigar all year so far, with no cravings (that were more than "barely noticable",after having smoked since 1991 while in the Army)...does that count?

I generally don't make resolutions, but I have been thinking a lot about all the "stuff" in my life (both physical and metaphysical) that seems to hold me like an anchor, with a self-made chain and shackle.....I will be working (some more) this year on letting go of the things that are dragging me down, and embracing the things that lift me up. "Dying isn't the sad part, the sad part is that most people don't really live.". I'll be working on the "living" part. The future is yet unwritten.

And this was funny as hell:
I resolve to:

1) loose more weight
2) get organized
3) buy more Becker, Kabar, and Western knives.

I predict, based on past performance, that I have a chance at accomplishing 1 and 3. 2 may end up being the ninth piglet on an 8-teated sow.
Thanks for the belly laugh.

I resolve to curtail my chagrin (and scoffs) when I see "Which Becker should I get /(next)" threads.

My main resolutions this year are to improve my fitness and make sure I get more hours in the gym, and to also get more hours in the shop. Basically, means I need to manage my time better.

Hahaha just bought the bk24 off the exchange. That was quicker then I thought, half way done on my resolution... Crap now i gotta be nice to people :)

I have several personal goals for the year; I refuse to call them resolutions because I never keep resolutions. I want to be a better man, stop watching porn, stop impulsively buying knives, add 10lbs of muscle, and pay off all consumer debt.

Anybody making them? Aside from the expected "I resolve not to make any resolutions"?

Last year, I resolved to get in better shape, and though it took the whole year, I dropped close to sixty pounds and got my wind back.
This year, I want to curb purchases, streamline and organize current possessions, and eliminate some material clutter. At the same time, I want to use and enjoy more the things I already have.
Who knows? I might even sell a stove!

I really want to help you with this!!! please send me a patrol machete to help stream line your possessions and eliminate material clutter :D

I want (have to) stay on my journey to lose weight, my resolutions are:

Eat less and better.
finish cleaning up my finances.
spend more time outdoors.

The plugin for the Matrix is over here----------------->

Good luck regardless!

Try to spend more time on the forums and less time at work.........

My resolution is to start competing in judo again. I am not 40 yet, and you know what they say, old age and treachery beats youth and vigor everyday!

I made several, in no particular order,

#1
Purchase a BK-17,

#2
Try to be better at organized challenges,
I sucked so bad at the Move Your Butt Challenge I almost surrendered my Beckerhead #
it seems I struggle with "Things I Have to Do"

#3
To continue my path toward grid independence, and to keep learning and improving on my outdoor skills,

#4 Find a another job, or way to earn a living, so I won't be forced to make chipmunk stew for next year's cooking challenge.

#5
As Gunyon said, learn to appreciate the things I already have.

#6
More days in tha canoe.

I resolve to finally finish mooses christmas present.a 3" carbon mora blade from Ragweed forge that has a lignum vitae bolster and a 5, 000 year old chunk of irish bog oak for a handle.I looked at it for two weeks after I got the raw materials epoxied together trying to get up the nerve to take the belt sander (thanks for letting me borrow it moose) to that bog oak since I was skeered (look it up its a real word here in pretty mouth country)I'd ruin it.Soon you leggy swamp donkey you can have your sander back and a "user" from the land of girls with dragon tattoos.

1. Quit smoking (seems like mission impossible)
2. Spend more time in nature
3. Have a date with Shania Twain (another mission impossible)
