Let's see your pics and vids and hear your stories.

Had an incredible time. We're still on the road, but I'll upload whack of pics when we get home.

Thanks to everyone that made this such a great event.

The first, and most important story of all is that Ethan graciously invited us once again to visit him at his home/land to party and camp out and teach and learn. Personally, I still find myself amazed that such a tight-knit, yet open community has grown around the man and the concept behind Becker Knives.

While Uncle WeirdBeard is clearly the main protagonist in this saga, I think it's fair to say that it wouldn't be much of a Gathering unless a bunch of bright, fun people showed up to rock out, and clean up when the party winds down.

Lol, well said JT.... if you've never been to one of these things its hard to understand the comradery and friendships that are forged there. Its always good to see familiar faces and meet new friends. The scenery and land is beautiful, the food is wonderful, the people are great. The knowledge shared is amazing and the fun is like no other. Of coarse. Non of this would be possible without Ethan and his second to non hospitality. What he does for us and this community is really the great thing about it. His cool knives are just a added bonus.
This is really the only pic I came home with. This was taken right across the street from Ethans house. I stopped there to show this spot to my wife. Across the river behind our backs is the start of whats called the tail of the dragon. Its a pretty famous spot for motorcycle riders. The road has 318 turns in 11 miles. About 15 years ago my wife and I rode a hardtail Harley Davidson all the way there and through the dragon. She had never been back since. It was nice to have her with me this weekend to experience what she has only heard about the last few times I went. She had a blast.

Also we need to give a shout out to some Beckerheads that was not there. GSO1962 sent a awesome cooler full of sausages to munch on that was fantastic, 710 sent a box of cool goodies as well. Thanks guys. I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot. But a little tired and gonna hit the sack!

I cannot even come close to saying how much Lydia and I had this weekend with everyone. Todd hit the nail on the head when he said Ethan's hospitality is second to none. We truly appreciate everything. Lydia spent all afternoon taking about Derek, Gus and Christine, Kay, Eric and forging her spork and Dex with his help learning to build a fire. I want to thank everyone for helping me show her new skills and many new friends and then Uncle Ethan made her a Beckerhead. I knew she had as much fun as possible even I looked over and she was sound asleep on the ride home.
I will post pics as soon as I get them on the computer.

I think Murf's dad should be in the running for rookie of the year.

Hey Brian!

It was great seeing you and meeting Lydia. She's a precocious little angel! When you get a chance ask her about the Dogaroo - lol.

I think Murf's dad should be in the running for rookie of the year.

Murph's dad was a blast. Really glad we got a chance to meet him.

I understand that; he was having a great time, and I had much fun hanging out with him. But no offense Murph's Dad... lil' Miss Lydia kicked everyone's ass up and down and back and forth across the field of play, with her remarkable attitude and focus and what she accomplished. It's extremely rare to see any human bean, regardless of age or experience, make that much progress in skills in such a short time, with such a great sense of joy and fun.

Also... Weaponized Dimples.

I vote for Lydia for Rookie of the Year.

had a blast - took no pictures, because I was too busy dominating the land. :D
made fire, cooked, chopped, ate, made HOT fire, hammered on things, cooked, ate, got other folks hammered, repeated.
was a good time, had previously met Papa Murph when I was dead on my feet after Blade, was very glad to have the chance to get to know him better.

on a sad (for other folks) note, when I got home, I found the jar of jalapeno jelly I had brought to share with folks. now I have to eat it all myself, unless I can figure out how to save it for the Midwest mini-gathering in Nov. in Ks.

It was awesome and much land was dominated . I was really happy to see Murphs dad there , really great guy as well as Terrios' wife . She is one awesome lady that's for sure. Becker gatherings have really turned into family reunions for me and I think others feel that way too . It was SO good to see everybody !

Had a great time, HUGE thanks to Ethan. Great time as always boss!
Slightly less huge but still a huge thanks also to Greg, Julio, and Ka-Bar for the swag and meat!
Thanks to Vik for the soap class AND beer soap and the plum goodness!

And everyone else too, had a blast ya'll!

Oh, and huge thanks also to Kay for the pies and the cinch bag(s).

wall o' text warning.....

When I wake up, well, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who drives to Half Moon Ridge
When I go camp yeah, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who camps on Half Moon Ridge
If I drink “stuff”, well, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who drinks on Half Moon Ridge
And if I haver, hey, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who havers on that hill

But I would drive five hundred miles
And I would drive five hundred more
Just to be the man who drove a thousand miles
To camp on Half-Moon Ridge

When I'm chopping, yes, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's chopping with your knife
And when the money comes in for the work I do
I'll pass almost every penny on to you
When I come home (When I come home), oh, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be a Beckerhead for life
And if I grow old, well, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's still a Beckerhead

But I would drive five hundred miles
And I would drive five hundred more
Just to be the man who drove a thousand miles
To camp on Half-Moon Ridge

Da lat da (Da lat da), da lat da (Da lat da)
Da-da-da dun-diddle un-diddle un-diddle uh da-da
Da lat da (Da lat da), da lat da (Da lat da)
Da-da-da dun-diddle un-diddle un-diddle uh da-da

When I'm hungry, well, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's eating at your fire
And when I'm dreaming, well, I know I'm gonna dream
I'm gonna dream about Boudain on Half Moon Ridge
When I go camp (When I go camp), well, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who camps with Becker Tools
And when I come home (When I come home), yes, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who can’t wait for next time
I'm gonna be the man who's waiting for next time

But I would drive five hundred miles
And I would drive five hundred more
Just to be the man who drove a thousand miles
To camp on Half-Moon ridge

Da lat da (Da lat da), da lat da (Da lat da)
Da-da-da dun-diddle un-diddle un-diddle uh da-da
Da lat da (Da lat da), da lat da (Da lat da)
Da-da-da dun-diddle un-diddle un-diddle uh da-da
Da lat da (Da lat da), da lat da (Da lat da)

Yeah, what the heck? Apparently these miscreants think it's more important to go to work and stuff than to post pics for our entertainment. :grumpy:
