Say hello to the newest member of our family. Just got the call that he is ready to go and he will be coming home with us tomorrow. We havent decided on a name yet but he is a Shiba Inu. They are a small, hard headed but adorable Japanese breed that doesnt go over 25 pounds. A small relative of the beautiful akita.

We would like help deciding on a name for HIM. Ultimately my wife will decide the winning name and the person who suggest the winning name will win their pick of either a used Worksharp knife and tool sharpener or a very lightly used BK11. And ill get pictures of the prizes up before the end of the contest.

Ok here are the rules...

1. Anyone can enter a name ONCE.
2. Only entries with names count.
3. Beckerheads may enter as many names as they want.
4. This will end ON OR BEFORE next Friday 2/21, but could be ended at any time if the wife sees a name that she just LOVES and we agree on using it.

So lets have fun and come up with a great name for this adorable puppy. Thanks fellas.

Grats on the new pup, WW

for a name... Kiko pronounced Kee-Koe or Fred.. I had a dog named Fred and he was one of the best I ever had.. :)

Good thing that I'm a BH; I've got lots of ideas!

Obvious ones:

Becker
Beckerhead
Beckerdog
Moose
Bladite
Tradewater
Snark

Less obvious ones:

Ka-Dog (Ka-Bar--get it? except that you might not want to name your dog "kill a dog"...)
Tweener
Necker

Non-Becker-related ones:

Lanyard
Sharp
Whetstone (Whet for short)
Tinder
Timber
Camper
Doggie (I had to)
Pup
Fox (he's kind of red)
Wolf
...and lastly, you should totally name him Bob or George.

Awesome pup there WW.... Well since the likelihood of me getting a pup anytime soon is short of NIL, I'll give you the name I wanted to use...

I like the name Bully. Love it in fact, and I think it suits your dog!

WOW, now this is what im talking about :D There are already some great suggestions here, keep it up guys!!!

Oh geez, I just love dogs, so here come the names...And congrats!!

Obi Won-You can call him "Obi" for short
Wookie
Toast
Pickles
Bacon
Kodiak
Vader
Cylon
Apollo
Odin
Fenrir
Thor
Logan
Rilo
Yukon
Bushido
Loki
Sashimi-sushi for short ;)
Choctaw

Obviously, the nerd runs deep in me...also, I need more dogs....because this is something I think about far too often

I have a friend who's name is Satoru, or Ru for short ("to know" or "understand") It's basically the same word as "satori" in Zen Buddhism. He's the grandson of George Nakishima, who had a lot of stuff to do with wood. Sekai Mokuzai (or "sekai ki") would be "world wood" in Japanese. Banzai means ten thousand years of life. Kenji is another one I like, and easy to pronounce for most people. Mori ki would be "forest wood" (or something like that). Or you could just have some fun and call him Tofu, Sushi or Hibachi. My vote would be for either Satoru or Moku(zai).

Obviously. Seriously. Of course, I recognize every one of those classic sci-fi references. You left out Arthur Dent and Zaphod Beeblebrox.

Katsuo. It means 'Victorious' in Japanese and definitely indicates his victory over your hearts as well as over any obstacles and threats you will encounter in the bush. Beautiful pup!

Asian names.... Inu (ee-new) is Dog. Injiyuu (in-gee-you): a mythical shadowed beast.

For humor I would name him "dinner"

Conventional names : Bud or Champ

Non-conventional names: Kai or Kay

Mythical: Zeus

Cartoon character : Bart (simpson)

What about after a BK? MashAx or Tweener would be pretty sweet

All of which can be yelled or gushed depending on if hes a good boy or not ;)

Thanks for the chance!

My wife suggests: Atticus
