Beckers and Boots

Wolverine 6" Exert. Only boots I ever have on, and I always wear boots. These are the only boots I can find that are comfortable on my feet.

I love my Blackhawk Warrior Wear boots. They are the most comfortable boots I have worn in years. They are waterproof, extremely quiet indoor and outdoor while walking or running on various surfaces. The soles are sound absorbing and tacky without sticking to polished floors. Also there is no "chirping or squeaking" on tile floors or linoleum. This is my second pair, only because I must have a back-up pair... The first pair pictured below are now 2 years old and are holding up well beyond expectations. I wear these boots daily while on duty from 8-12 hour shifts and I work 6 days a week. They are not heavy or clunky at all. They feel like high top sneakers when wearing them. Smooth to lace up and stay tight. I keep them clean and waxed at all times. No liquid wax, just Kiwi black wax, an old T-shirt to apply, boot brush and a pair of the wife's old pantyhose to buff to a gloss shine... When they get scuffed, dirty or muddy, I wash them off and reapply the Kiwi and buff again.

I will add that they are a tad bit expensive for a boot made in China, but they fit, feel and wear excellent.

I got a pair of Merrell Moab gore-tex boots around Halloween and they have been outstanding so far. Also their customer service is on par with Ka-Bar.. They ended up sending me 3 different sizes of inserts.

I have been into minimalist footwear for the past 8 months, I find anything with a cushiony insole and a heel lift very paintful to my feet, I been looking for a pair of minimalist boots for awhile and I decided to get the Bates zero mass. There light as hell and insanely comfortable (after I removed the insole) they are not waterproof but they have stood up to at least 4 months of abuse and everyday wear. I'm very hard on my shoes and boots and I wear then out very quickly and so far these are holding up really well. uploadfromtaptalk1355499179594.jpguploadfromtaptalk1355499203414.jpg

Navy surplus Bates 9 inch black steeltoes (don't even know if they have an official name). Here in a few days I'll have worn them darn near every day for two years. The insoles really need to be replaced, but the leather and Vibram soles are holding up great.
This is also the longest lasting pair of laces I've ever had. I'm still on the original military ones that came with the boots.
They're not perfect (as RRR1977 said) but they're tough, reliable and cheap (for civilians). Being USA made (Berry compliant) is nice too.

I have 2 sets of Merrell air cushion inserts they are size 13 and are narrow and medium width. I ended up using the wide ones and don't need the others. I didn't want to just throw them away so If anyone is interested in them shoot me your address and I will send them out to you.

I am still on a quest for new hiking boots...does anyone have experience with Zamberlan? I am down to looking at this boot in the picture here or going with Danners.

My favorite combo BK5 with my Danner 8" rain forests. They are a touch warm in the summer. lucky for me summer lasts only 3 weeks before the rain starts again.

I have a bunch of boots that I accumulated during my time in the Air Force, like Matterhorns, Danner Ft Lewis, desert, and ABU (Airman Battle Uniform) boots. I wanted to get a new pair of the old issued combat boots several years ago but they weren't sold at clothing sales any longer. I bought the Belleville combat boots that the Air Force went to right before the green ABU boots came out. I haven't worn them in uniform since BDUs phased out of the AF last November, and they looked far better then. They're comfortable, gore-tex lined, and do well in the rain.
