I posted this years archery buck previously with the BK16 I'm growing to love, and used to clean him. Yesterday, a friend of mine and I went turkey hunting. It was a great hunt, and I managed to call in 8 different birds, both of us tagging a longbeard by shortly after noon.

I used the 16 to clean my bird, and snapped a blade beauty shot before things got a little messy. Love this blade for game cleaning, as the ergos are great, the blade length ideal for me, and the blade shape lets me make delicate cuts without much fear (such as removing a turkeys breast meat, while avoiding the potential gullet explosion). Just thought I'd share.

HOW DARE YOU TAUNT ME!!!! I have to wait another week and a freaking half for first day of Spring Gobbler here. That is a fine looking bird with a stout beard. Congrats!

Nice bird.
Patiently waiting until May 4th to go after ours! You can bet the 16 will be on my belt!

I need to hunt Turkeys. They are everywhere around here and like to try to fly through my Jeep windshield while I am heading home from work. Thin the numbers I guess.

Good to know the 16 did a good job for you.

Our bird numbers overall are down, but you sure couldn't convince me of that yesterday. Good luck.

Good looking bird. I like that sheath too. The 16 does it all doesn't it?

Same here Jeremy. We have to dodge them with the lawnmower. The dog is so tired of chasing them she just gives them dirty looks. :D

Congrats!

The BK-5 does a fine job of carving a nice roasted turkey.... just sayin' :)

cschol, OFFICIAL, and I will have to add some beckers and turkeys pics to this thread in May. The thread started off very well with a beautiful bird and becker. Lets keep this one alive through the season!

Congrats MOCraig

gun or bow ?

This was a shotgun kill. It's the first turkey I've killed with a gun in several years - I like to hunt rios and rio/eastern hybrids with a bow and no blind. I will admit that eastern birds without a blind are more suited to shotgun.

Thanks for the chance, I'm in.
I took the last few seasons off because the steelhead runs had been so good, they are early this year?! So its game on again and I'm pumped.

What a lovely bird........Congratulations .......... Thank you for the kind words about the Sweet Sixteen...... Truly music to my ears........ Hope the bird tastes as good as it looks!!!! ...... Enjoy.....

Don't mean to derail this thread, but cschol, how do you have an avatar, and sig, as a registered user?

What shot were you using?
