I first bought a BK2 on the advice of a friend to handle some yard word and field tasks. Next thing I ordered was a BK7 and BK9. All are excellent knives and whoever I let use them loves not only the price, but the quality as well. Finally I had to get a BK4 and a BK24. Knives addictive? Pfft no way. What? I don't have a problem! I can quit whenever I want!

...Today I await the arrival of a BK5 and BK11. To kill some time I started reading the older threads of this forum. I recently learned about other Becker models no longer available. I was sad to find out I couldn't get a Brute anymore. To ease the pain, I think I might need to order some tweeners.

Nice knife! I really need to get a 5, I love my 15 so I can imagine the 5 is even more awesome. I bet it would work wonders when I'm out back grilling.

Oh yea, when the becker bug bites, it bites hard.

Enjoy the new steel bud.

That bug has it's teeth dug in deep. And thanks, can't wait to put her through the paces...

I have been doing the same thing. Reading those old posts and seeing the different models could make you crazy with lust. I was drooling over the Brute myself...

Thanks. And she would definitely work great helping out grilling,...a mammoth!

Keep your eyes on the exchange and ebay and I am sure you sill find yourself a Brute at some point.

They are addictive. It's awesome to find such a great design at a great price. When I first found them, I was buying like crazy. The fun then came when I started really using them and figuring out what a liked and what I used the most. I cut back to "essentials", but I think I'm back to owning too many again. They keep finding their way in!

I had that same thought the first time I got my hands on my BK2 years ago. And I continue to have that thought with each new model I get. I am constantly amazed at how much knife you get for the price.

Within less than a month of getting my Eskabar I ordered 2 more Beckers, a 2, and an 11.
There is definitely a tendency for Beckers to "multiply" in your knife collection.
I look at my knives as tools, and Beckers are effective, quality tools. And every man "needs" good tools.
This is how I justify my purchases to my wife, unfortunately she doesn't buy my excuse.
She thinks I have a problem.

I haven't noticed that they were addicting.... I can quit anytime I want, I just don't want to..... (11, 9, 5, 16, 15, 24, 12), haha
